Still I don't get what you mean, we just help people to experience PLi as it's how enigma2 should be and you think this is wrong? We should not help each other?

We don't even have a build server and users should compile it themselves.

https://github.com/P...etas/pli-extras is not official and it's not just about dreambox, we test so many things and we send merge requests for what we think could help PLi users too so it's not a bad thing

No, you are not "helping" each other. You are helping Dream (making money, and continuing as "closed").

Many people, just need OpenPLi, if there was NO OpenPLi they wouldn't buy Dream.

You, Me, OE-A, Others (you know the unknown people behind pli-images.net), help Dream, not people, fooled thinking there is OpenPLi© available.

Anyway, if making images for DMM makes you happy, just DO IT! BUT do not complain about "closed source etc.", because you still helping Dream continue as "closed".


At least OpenPLi© there made a (wise) choice (although I didn't like it at that time), others just complain.

Hi,

I'm very new to enigma2 and have some noobs questions

If I understand correctly enigma2 need the e2procfs driver to work on any board. So what is the use of this driver? why does enigma require this while other stbs software like neutrino doesn't?

I have a raspberry pi 3, can I run openpli on it and use a USB DVB-s tuner ? or do I also need an e2procfs for USB tuners? can I use these sources :

for this purpose or are these just generic template and should be modified for each tuner? what information is needed from manufacturer to write an e2procfs driver (registers ?)

Install the official DMM image or derived from DMM official image... ... Search the folders for a proc that can change the LED and adapt E2's python code for it... And when such proc does not exits... and the official DMM image can do it... Reverse engineer it's binary blob or hope some clue is included in the python code....

Or open the box and remove/disconnect the lights

I've tried the test build (spark20180221) for my Amiko Alien 2 (triple tuner, 2*sat, 1*terrestrial) and run into a reboot loop:

- when I choose to restore my settings backup, I run into "AttributeError: type object 'eDVBFrontendParameterTerrestrial' has no attribute 'FEC_3_5'  => reboot => error => reboot => error etc.

- when I choose not to restore my settings backup, I can scan satellites for channels and also terrestrial. However, when saving terretrial channels I run into the same error

Probably the problem is 'uniontunertype default c'.
Restoring the settings does not seem to take this into account.
Therefore, first change via Tunerconfig on t.
