I hope the title says it all. I just flashed the latest 6.1 image and it still seems impossible to establish any connection on any band.

How about the Ku band?

Hehe, very funny, Erik. I was talking about the 2,4 and 5 GHz bands.

@all,

Sorry guys but I disagree. Just to check I made a connection with my Wlan through two walls and this works ok.
I previously checked the Release and it worked there too. So look for local issues.

After today I give up on wireless at least on my main recording box with VTi. With the original image or any Openpli I could never establish any connection on two Ultimo 4k's. I tested with two routers: Fritzbox 7590 and 7390.

But even with VTi where it worked for some time now I had issues, e.g. I normally had to restart the box twice to get a connection. Not the best scenario if you want or have to restart the box remotely sometimes.

But tonight there must have been a power failure and even after 3 restarts there was still no connection, so no time from ntp and thus none of the 10 recordings I had programmed were executed.

As I'm not the only one experiencing some serious problems I must assume that there are just some boxes out there that have those issues, hardware-related or whatever.

Hi, which WiFi channel do you use. A lot of devices do not like 12&13 in 2.4GHz and >64 in 5GHz. I had to set my Fritz fixed to 44 to get a connection. This is image independent. ciao

I finally got to doing some more testing for which I used a Fritzbox 7330: with this one it is working like a charm. Therefore I have to assume that it's a combination of certain routers with this VU+ box that's causing the problem. I still can't put my finger on the actual problem, though. In the log I see that the lines concerning the IPv4 protocol:

May 29 04:29:14 vuultimo4k daemon.info avahi-daemon[2935]: Joining mDNS multicast group on interface wlan3.IPv4 with address 192.168.1.29.
May 29 04:29:14 vuultimo4k daemon.info avahi-daemon[2935]: New relevant interface wlan3.IPv4 for mDNS.
May 29 04:29:14 vuultimo4k daemon.info avahi-daemon[2935]: Registering new address record for 192.168.1.29 on wlan3.IPv4.

are missing for the Fritzbox 7590, I guess the same goes for the 7390. I tried disabling IPv6 support in the router but that didn't help.

Remains the question why it's working with VTi but not with the original image or Openpli.
