If your IPTV channels come from a provider then one issue is that they usually allow only one transmission unless you have a „multiroom“ account allowing multiple access - so watching and recording can be an issue.

The VU Zero is sold as a zapper, the drivers don't have support for recording. The PAU plugin is in the feed, and supplies the API needed to work around that limitation.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Thanks again, how do I get the Pau plugin, is it standard in the openpli pluggins or do I need to get it somewhere else?

It is available as a plugin in the downloads. But you can't install it now, the servers are down for maintenance at the moment. ;)

Is this plugin also needed for the VU+ Zero 4k? I can record from both the internal tuner as well as a stream from the HD2400 to my NAS and/or HD2400.

Does this mean that the recording limitation been lifted for this box, or is PAU still needed if you want to do a local record through the USB port?

With IPTV channel you cannot record at all when the STB is on because when you start a recording even if you stay on the same channel internally Enigma2 starts 2 streams. 1 for recording and another one for the "screen", so your recording will always get stopped because your IPTV only allows 1 stream and the last stream is the one to watch the channel on TV.

If you are watching for instance a sat service, you should be able to record an IPTV service.
If you are using an IPTV provider and you are watching an IPTV service and you have a „multiroom“ ageement with the same provider you should be able to record.

enigma2-plugin-extensions-pau_1.0-r0_vuzero.ipk

If it is not in the list of extensions, it might already be installed.
