So far I didn't really miss this option in Openpli but since HDMI-IN should now be working in Quad-PiP there really should be some possibility to add HDMI-IN to the channel list. I know that it's possible to add it manually via a settings editor but I don't believe this is the way to go.

I think he wants to achieve this:

Add HDMI-IN to bouquet

* Select a existing Bouquet -> OK

* add HDMI-IN 8192:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0: to the selected bouquet

#SERVICE 8192:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:
#DESCRIPTION HDMI-IN

So at bouquet level and not insert HDMI-IN.... And what if it already exists in a bouquet? Allow multiple? or just add a function insert HDMI-IN....? You still can do it via a settings editor....

There are more options...

Yes, I was talking about adding it at a bouquet level. Why not allow multiple? Better than none, that's the user's problem. Right now I have added it to several bouquets. But to choose it for quad-pip I need to have a bouquet entry. The problem for me is that I use the same settings list on plenty of boxes, half of them don't need this entry as they don't have HDMI-IN. The other problem I encountered is the fact that after downloading the list from the box and sending it back the entry has to be added manually every time which seems unnecessary. Maybe I'm doing something wrong there? Anyway, I still believe that a box should be fully functional without having a computer around all the time which I don't have for all the boxes all the time and certainly not when I need it urgently.

A function in addition wouldn't hurt either...

It should be implemented the best way... I suggest at bouquet level it is not the best way... I think an option to insert it below of after the 'pointer' is smarter than adding it to an end on a list and then replace....

I don't mind where it finds it's place as long as I can find it somewhere in the list.

So how do you activate HDMI input so that you require a PC?

(I used to do it via the blue/extensions button, activate PiP full screen HDMI input)

1. I don't need a pc to activate HDMI-IN, I need a pc to use a settings editor to add a HDMI-In entry. That was the whole point of this thread.

2. I don't see an option in the blue button menu to activate HDMI-IN with latest Openpli RC 6.2 on Ultimo 4K. I also don't see where the connection between activating HDMI-IN and PiP is.

What I noticed however is, that the PiP seems to be restricted to the upper left picture in this image.

That is completely another issue. We have reported this issue a few times to VU+. If you really want to have it in the right hand corner (or at the bottom), it's possible, but you need to write special fabricated values to the relevant /proc filesystem entries.
