I just upgraded to the latest version 6.1 and when I go through the initial setup, detecting internet connectivity

it says no internet. It was working fine before with version 4 and when I skip this step and finish the installation

and use my IPTV channels I have installed, I have no issues watching IPTV. I am also able to do the software

update. What doesnt work is the plug ins, I cannot load the plug in list and cannot install the CrossEPG files

since there are not found in the list. Can someone please help me to get this working since I really need to get

my EPG working again which I was using in the previous version. If I restore the setting from the backup, the

plug ins are not restored.

Are you sure you have a geniune OpenPLi image? As in downloaded from https://openpli.org/download?

 

For OpenPLi, images, updates and plugins all come from the same hostname, updates and plugins even from the same location.

Yes I did and the file I downloaded is this:  openpli-6.1-release-dm8000-20180416

I was using version 4 before and I had no problems. Now I cannot download the latest plug ins and therefor

cant install crossEPG again. Can someone please help?

What are the erorr messages you get? I just checked, the DM8000 feed for 6.1-release is online and operational, I can download the package index files without problems.

I flashed the version 4 again and when I select restore settings oh the first screen it looks
like its loading the setting and then asks again to restore settings over and over. When I chose no
I get prompted on the next screen after selecting the language then to restore settings and when
selecting restore, it reloads my setting without the plug ins. I can now find cross epg in the
downloaded plugins and configure it but I cannot activate the guide. Can someone please help?
How can I get it working with the OIpenPLi version 6?

It looks like there is something seriously wrong with your box.

 

After you replied yes to "do you want to restore", a flag is written to the config to mark you've already done that. The fact that it repeats means it can't write to the filesystem in flash. Which is probably also why installing plugins fails.

 

Can you telnet into the box, and issue the command "df -h", and post the result here?

 

And you are not using some multiboot solution, are you?

It was working without any issues for several years using version 4 with cross EPG running just fine. The I
decided to upgrade. I can restore the settings on the 2nd screen after initially chosing no to restore.
I just flashed it with version 6.2 and there I cannot download the cross epg as well. I attached the
screenshot. There is no multiboot, I only installed OpenPLi nothing else was ever installed

I don't know if we even have CrossEPG in the feeds. There was one in the 3rdparty binary feed, but that was removed earlier this week because it is no longer compatible.

 

But that is not related to the other problems you have. Do you have your settings backup on the harddisk? If so, can you do

opkg update
while read f; do opkg install $f; done < /media/hdd/backup/autoinstall

and post any error messages here?

Yes the backup is on the HD and I already restored and it runs fine, but I like to have a working guide
and cross epg version 0.82 is in the plug in download. When I flashed with version 4, I can find it in
the download and install and configure, but I cannot pull up the guide.

The last line went wrong, is that something DCC inserts? The "uname..."?

I think the reason why I cannot download the plug ins is that in the version 6 install, it does not
detect the internet connection correctly. When I tried to do a setup without restoring the setting,
it will not detect the internet connection but I have nothing wrong with the connection, it will do
the software update but not the plug ins. How can I fix the internet connection issue?

If you can do a software update, and from the output you've shown that works fine, you can also download packages. They are downloaded from the same URL.

When I did the fresh install of any version and select not to restore, the test shows no internet
connection, but my internet works just fine. Is there an explanation? All I know is that if I install
version 4, I get the cross epg in the plugin downloads and if I chose any version 6, it will not show,
just cool epg and I tried to install and set it up but it does not work, just crashes when I launch it.
Before i attempted to upgrade, my guide was working perfect, but the backup did not include any of the
plug ins so now I cannot get any guide working again. Is there an epg that I can get working on OpenPli6 ?

As I said before, it is removed from the feed. If it is still in the OpenPLi 4 feed, it probably has to be removed there too. Reason is that the imports are no longer working, and we've been asked to remove it.

 

If you just use it as a guide, why not use the one that is already present?

How about the Cool EPG that is there but when I try, it keeps crashing. Also I want to use the guide in
conjunction with iptv-epg which provides an xml file that works perfect with the cross epg and I like the
graphics that come with the TV guide. why do I get the internet connection error when trying a clean
setup without importing the settings?

Again, it is not in the feed. We don't maintain it, so if the maintainer wants it back in the feed, he can fix the isses and let us know.

 

The only thing current CrossEPG can do that is not already present in OpenPLi is read OpenTV EPG. All other feature are present in the image, including import of xxmltv files.

OK thanks, I understand but you still have CoolEPG in the plug ins and I used that before in conjunction
with CrossEPG and the graphics are really nice. I installed it and every time I try to launch it, it crashes.
I tried it in both OpenPLi 4 and 6 and no luck, but it was working before I did the upgrade. Also how can
I change the default power setting that puts the receiver in deep standby, I had it changed before but cannot
remember and I cannot find it anywhere in the settings.
