Define "USB HDD not working"? We need much more info. What did you expect to happen? What does happen instead?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Hi,

What is the partition type of your USB HDD 240Gb (FAT/NTFS/HFS/EXT4)?

Connect thanks to a telnet client to you box.

When done,  connect the HDD.

Then type:

dmesg
lsusb

And show us the result of those two commands. No need to take a screenshot, telnet are pure text so you should be able to perform a copy/paste selecting the text (except if you are using DCC that prevent you from doing copy/paste).

But when i pluged a USB HDD (240 gb usb Hdd) newer show anywhere.

guess, USB hardrive is without an external power supply, it won´t work, you need an USB hub with the external power supply

I tried someting.

1. I used external power for the usb hdd. it does not work.   ( My usb device is  Seagate Expansion HDD Disk  and sandisk SSD 240 GB)

i tried with Wd myPassport 500gb SSD  its working .

i rolback box to 6.1 image  .  all of them are working perfectly.

I think the problem about some  missing usb drive.

Because of when i update 6.1 to 6.2 from box  menu   it was working for first restart.

After Device dedected new update  and i instaled some new update from enigma menu.   But it does not work. stayed on boot.

so

i had to flash  by usb device  (6.2) ..Now  the problem continues.

Best regards.

Did you take a copy of the dmesg when you rollback to OpenPLi 6.1 so we can compare the output of both version?

You can also take the output of:

opkg list-installed

on 6.1 and 6.2

And compare both with a texteditor to find which plugin you install on 6.1

I have the same problem here: since 6.2 my external hard drive is not recognised. It's a 4 TB Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive. Going back to 6.1 makes it all work again.

I have seen similar issues with USB sticks, but I can't reproduce it. And it is only upon boot, if you unplug it, and plug it back in, it is detected fine.

But I can't reproduce it, and that makes it difficult to work on. Every one of my boxes has a USB stick for backup and flashing, and I've only seen this a few times...

I don't have USB3 devices. If someone has this problem with one of the boxes in my signature, let me know so I have something to reproduce it with.

I have a USB2 stick in every box, and my current "watch" box has a USB2 1TB disk attached. And so far I don't have a problem, apart from an incidental issue that I couldn't repeat (i.e. after a reboot the stick was detected and mounted fine).
