Hi all, I have a brand new VU+ Zero 4K that was successfully updated to OpenPLI 6.2 May 21st release.  I'm trying to go through the setup process but only EU satellites are present.  What is the process to add or change the satellite list?  Thanks for the help.

Congratulations on the receiver! It works great for me in Atlanta, Ga.

OpenPLI 6.2 May 21st release has satellites from 1.9E to 177W. So it does contain North American satellites unless the image has been altered.

The satellite file is located in /etc/tuxbox of the receiver, and the file name is satellites.xml. The satellites.xml can be overwritten in an update at this location, so I run the satellites.xml file in the /etc/enigma2 folder.

Will be glad to help you get setup and running if needed. This receiver is also capable of ATSC. EB

And in case the original was overwritten and lost, you can restore it from here: https://github.com/O...tree/master/xml

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Thanks guys, you are correct, I didn't see it because it defaults to an EU satellite, all the NA birds are present.  I have a ton of learning to do for this unit.  I managed to scan my first satellite successfully, but I really don't understand how the Zero 4K works yet.  It's definitely different than an Amiko box. I appreciate any pointers you may have for learning more about the UI and settings for the Zero 4K.  My setup is the Zero 4K goes to a 22 kHz switch, one port goes to a Tek2000 8' C band dish, the other port goes to a Geosat 90 Ku band dish.  No Diseqc switches are present.

Alan Rovner

Is this your first enigma2 box? I am guessing that it is because all enigma2 boxes setup in a similar way. I can set up an image for you that will run to get you started. You need to provide some details on your antenna system. I know you are switching bands with 22KHZ. I also need to know these:

LNB l.o. for c band
LNB l.o. for ku band
Tv resolution
Satellite orbit positions you want setup for c band
Satellite orbit positions you want setup for ku band
Motor positioner (diseqc 1.2) numbers for each c band satellite (if any)
Motor positioner numbers (if not USALS) for ku satellites
You may post this information here or send it in a pm. Either way, that is enough information to get you up and running.

Thanks that's a generous offer. I'll get back to you tonight. Can I attach an xlsx file with my ASC1 stored positions? I don't know if the forum permits that. Yes this is my first experience with enigma, I'm very new with it.

Thanks again,
Alan

Should be able to attach the ASC1 file, but it may need to be zipped. Try it and see. I also assume the 22KHz Tone ON is ku band. Need to know if that is not correct.

Hi again Bandido, Here is the info you asked for:

C band LNB: 5150 (going by memory, should be a standard LNB)

Ku band LNB: 10750 (also going by memory, standard LNB)

TV resolution = 1080i (haven't bought 4K yet)

22 kHz Off = C band; 22 kHz On = Ku band

See my list of C band Diseqc 1.2 positions below

Ku band uses USALS, from 72W to I believe 127W

Thank you, let me know if you need anything else.

Alan

1 = 137W AMC 7

2 = 135W AMC 10

3 = 131W AMC 11

4 = 127W G13

5 = 125W AMC 21

6 = 123W G18

7 = 121W Echo9

8 = 116.8W

9 = 113W

10 = 111W Anik F2

11 = 107W Anik F1

12 = 105W AMC 15

13 = 103W SES3

14 = 101W SES1

15 = 99W G16

16 = 97W G19

17 = 95W G3

18 = 91W G17

19 = 89W G17

20 = 87W SES 2

32 = 133W G1

35 = 139W AMC 8

OK.
Will put this together. And will use the ku USALS for Vancouver.

Check your pm box for the download link.
Remote Control Shortcuts buttons =
Red = Positioner setup
Green = Service or channel lists
Green X2 = Satellites
Blue = Blindscan.

Should load right up and work as it has your settings.
