Dear All,

I using  Openpli 6.2  Last image for Formulerf4 Turbo. ( Also we had samo problem  at OpenPli 6.1 image)

When i watching   avi/mkv file from usb disc with  srt subtitle (acsii) .Some letter  (öüşğıç,ÖÜŞĞİÇ) seem wrong. They are turkish special letter.

I tried some  way  i fount from the other formums to solving the problem.

firstly i instaled language support

opkg remove glibc-gconv-iso8859-3

opkg remove glibc-gconv-iso8859-6

opkg remove glibc-gconv-iso8859-9

and

I edited enigma2.sh  LD_PRELOAD=$LIBS /usr/bin/enigma2  to      LD_PRELOAD=$LIBS GST_SUBTITLE_ENCODING="ISO-8859-3" /usr/bin/enigma2

The problem continues.

By the way  the problem is for only ascii files  not for utf-8 ;

But who want convert all subtitle file  before  watching.

Do you have any idea to solve the problem.

Thanks.

Best Regards.

You try to read characters in ASCII file that are not part of the ASCII standard. So you need to use properly encoded files so UTF-8 is the right solution.

Install this package on your box:

opkg update
opkg install libc6-utils

Then you will have access to the command line tools iconv.

With iconv you can convert files from an encoding system to another one.

Hi,

Can you please type:

opkg list | grep -B 1 iconv

Just to retrieve the name of the package that gives iconv on your STB model.

Thanks

Not selecting libc6 2.24 as installing it would break existing dependencies.

Collected errors:
 * calculate_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for li
c6-utils:

 * opkg_solver_install: Cannot install package libc6-utils.

Interesting:

root@vuzero:~# opkg install libc6-utils
Installing libc6-utils (2.24) on root.
Downloading http://downloads.openpli.org/feeds/openpli-6-release/mips32el/libc6-utils_2.24-r0.2_mips32el.ipk.
Configuring libc6-utils.

what is the output on your box of "opkg info libc6"?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
