We're looking into if we can "select" the release-6.2 branch of the BSP for OpenPLi 6.2. But we won't do that (of course) without proper testing.

A minor update. I have tested with two random wifi ‘sticks’ and both worked with develop. Tomorrow I will do some more testing with a release and thesame sticks and update my findings overhere.

Test with wpa2 encryption and the OpenPLI 6.2 release which can be downloaded here and you'll see it refuses to connect and/or it drops the connection.

It only connects fine with an 'open' wifi network.

Frenske is talking about the BSP update we're testing.

I just did some testing with several sticks and images. I can confirm that the release doesn't work. Develop works ok and a special made home made image with the newest drivers works ok too. We're doing our best to solve this ASAP.

Here is my today build with latest Backup Suite (second try to fix the restore problem) for zgemma h9: http://www.mediafire...h9_usb.zip/file

It's not Open PLi and it's not PLi experience like https://github.com/P...etas/pli-extras it's just for my tests.

@Persian Prince:

Tested and tested.

And unfortunately not working.

It makes the backup but when selecting it for restoring it look likes it is restoring (screen goes black, light on usb blinks, so something happens). Then it reboots itself and nothing is changed (backup is not restored).

And when selecting "full backup" for restoring, it hangs already before the screen goes black.

Only for test as proof of concept.

The BSP update files you need to place it in /tmp/

Run the in telnet/putty the manual package update for the files.

opkg --force-downgrade install /tmp/kernel-image_4.4.35*
opkg install /tmp/zgemma*
opkg install /tmp/kernel-module*

reboot

files: https://we.tl/t-QR0cqZxnXQ

The rfkill module isn't load automatic so you have to load it manual first

insmod /lib/modules/4.4.35/kernel/net/rfkill/rfkill.ko

Place wifi stick after loading the rfkill module

Can someone tell the extra steps for automatic detection / automatic reloading of rfkill ?

Now every time after standby or a reboot you have to:

1. unplug the wifi-stick

2. load rfkill manually

3. reinsert the wifi stick

4. enable the wifi through the menu

So any extra steps for making the wifi working direcly after a reboot and/or startup would be nice.

We have updated the BSP after testing and after ensuring there were no regressions. We can't test the wifi issue ourselves. The release images are built only once a week, so that way it came to you. So if you say it fixes the issue, that's great, good to know.

I also noticed that the little drop-outs/glitches in the picture seem to be gone now.

Thanks a lot for the update ! :)

Now the last part is waiting for the backupsuite restore fix.

One small detail: CPU type is still not detected in H9 after the BSP update. In developer version the CPU type is detected fine.
