You can flash any image and the HDD will remains untouched.

But don't use the autorestore feature because it will probably restore also all the plugins that you have previously installed.

My advice is that you reinstall OpenPLi and start using it without installing any plugin (except your softcam and EPGimport) nor skin and give it a try to see how stable is your box.

Flashed yesterday with 6.2, from scratch. Just channels put back from Dreamset, but always crash and freezes...
I have disabled and uninstalled some plugins, like cablescan that I don't need and we will see.

Next step, from scratch with original Vu+ image.
I'm beginning to ask me if there's no problem with this receiver, not the image, but the Duo2 itself.

I will flash my Duo2 too today although I hardly ever experienced issues with the develop images.
Recently I noticed some issues with the control of the image, sometimes a delay in responding of the remote control and some other wierd things. This might have been due to testing several plugins so I will flash without restoring todays or yesterdays RC 7.

I'm beginning to ask me if there's no problem with this receiver, not the image, but the Duo2 itself.

Indeed I came to the same conclusion as yours... I made some google search and find out reports similar crash as yours and the advice is to check (and replace) the capacitors and control the PSU output (Power Supply Unit).

I read someone else post on another forum: he sold its Duo2 on the internet because it has the same problem as you have (sudden unexpected crash), I hope you are not the one who purchase it from him.

Today, original Vu+ image, to start a clean situation. No Oscam, not user friendly, so, after that Op 6.2, without restauring config.

Channel list put by Dreamset, timer list created again because Timer restore doesn't work with DCC...

First browse in channel list, crash again. I AM DESPERATE, I don't no what to do with this receiver...

Here under the last crash log:

I really think that your box has a hardware problem.

I agree. I just flashed my Duo 2, installed Oscam, HBBTV is already dafault present, tested with recordings, HBBTV, browsing etc but no crash.

I have to change my previous report. I just got a GSOD too while actually hardly doing anything. The box started to respond slowly so I wanted to check something via telnet. And suddenly GSOD.

As I hardly installed any plugins there seems to be some weird (driver)issue. I will report this to our Dev's. I do not think it's actually a driver issue as they haven't been changed from march 2018.

In the meantime you'd better use 6.2 for a while.

Possible, but not well planned, mine is from April 2018 and I have problems for at least 3 or 4 months!

VU+ receivers could use better capacitors. I hoped Vu+ learned sth from Duo1 debacle, but its the same with Duo2.

Then if yours is still under warranty put back official image on it and ask for repair.

Hello everybody,

Duo2 back from service yesterday, NOTHING FOUND!

They only updated with an experimental version of Vti.

But, cannot use it, as there is no Oscam plugin in Vti..

So, back to Op6.2.

Now, as they have not found an hardware issue, is that possible that I have a problem due to my 2 Pcmcia Viaccess modules?

Or something in my configuration that's not working with OP?
I have to search for all the possible causes, because OP is really good, the Duo2 is really good too and I really want to use it as is maximum...

Thanks for your advice and help in my next investigations...

PS: At the moment, used only with Oscam, my 2 Pcmcia modules not inserted, this is the 1st test I can do now.

Hi,

My Duo2 just arrived here on Friday, following the technician, nothing found.

It has worked good until yesterday, again a crash with a freeze and the spinner.

What did I have to look for?

I have installed again OP 6.2 as there is no Oscam in Vti, can it be a difference between Vti and OP? Did I have to go back to Vti and install manually Oscam to test it better?

I have not inserted my 2 Pcmcia Viaccess modules, thinking that maybe it can create this problem, but they are not concerned.

Another idea : we have power problems, that are not yet solved and often we only have 195-200 volts, can it be a source for this ?

If anybody has a idea on what to look for, thanks for the help.

It probably is power problem, probably some capacitor dying. My Duo2 is also experiencing random freezes. Picture freezes, only audio is working. Also I cannot access box via network. After hard reset it works again.
