srp = by service reference, snp = by name.

The first has a one-on-one match between channel and picon, but means you may miss picons for other channels with the same name.

The second has picons by name, doesn't have that problem, but may show incorrect picons for some channels, and also has problems when you have renamed channels.

thank you for the explination,

is it that the different sizes are different screens ? or different skins ?

Different picon sizes.

Skins will resize to the available space, what size needed depends on the space the skin has reserved for it.

If you don't know, it's a bit trial and error, obviously too small means it gets blown up too much, too big means wasting disk and memory (loaded picons are cached in memory).

For the standard PLi skins, I use 220x132.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

is there a simple guide as to what the difference is to all the picons? examples of each size and titles, eg:     srp-snp-ziggo and which is suitable or best for each type of  box ?

Maybe there can be made a preview?
Just as where we can select skins.

Vu+ Ultimo 4K (4 TB HD, DVBS FSB, DVBC FBC & OpenPli 9),

Xtrend ET10000 (1 DVBS works via ethernet & OpenPli 9),

Xtrend ET10000 (DVBT2 & OpenPli 9, located in Thailand). Only latest stable releases.

Xtrend ET10000 (works via ethernet & OpenPli 9) and

Xtrend ET8000 (1 TB HD, 1 DVBT2 & works via ethernet & OpenPli 9)
