Hello everyone,

I get a new Vu+ UNO 4K SE DVB-S2X Original recently, and i installed the openpli-6.2-release-vuuno4kse-2018-06-11_usb

I scanned 19°E, 13°E, 5°W and 7°W without problem, I have 75% SNR

The problem is, I can't scan the multi-stream channels on 5°W, may be driver problem, cause it's a new model item DVB-S2X ?

In fact, I have no option on the menu to input : Stream ID, No PLS mode or PLS code !

This morning, I tried the last image, openpli-6.2-release-vuuno4kse-2018-06-18_usb, unfortunately, I could not scan any channel on 5°W the others sat OK

I had the same problem with the Vu+ original image last week, vuplus-image-vuuno4kse-2018-06-05-03-27-58_usb, no channel on 5°W the others sat OK

Please, anyone can help ?

Thanks

They chance the tuner from S2 to S2X without changing the productname to revision and without any adverising or official Informations. New devices have S2x and the older habe S2

S2X tuners are not necessarily MIS capable. As far as I know only Silabs ones can do MIS atm.

This is another story. The FBC DVB S2 from VU+ have the text "DVB-S2x" on them, but they're not. Really. New DVB FBC tuners that are S2x capable will be launched shortly.

Sorry, Erik, but they are actually out now. They aren't sold separately yet but for some weeks now the new VU+ Uno 4K SEs have been delivered with it. I guess you didn't really have a look at the pictures provided in this thread.

It is not because it is written S2X on the VU+ motherboard that it is.  We already had this discussion with the Uno 4K (non SE) and it was also written S2X and it was not S2X.

But if VU+ start releasing S2X tuner it is a good new, except for early adopters of there products... and this will increase confusion if they release the same product, same name with different tuners.

This is a known issue. The hardware is S2X capable. But currently there is nothing in the drivers to be able to access this capability. Currently the only S2X transponder on the entire arc is 12598V on 33 east.

With regard to multistream, to test the tuner info with the current drivers go to "NimSelection" screen, highlight the tuner, and press info. You will find no mention of multistream in that info. This is what it looks like if the box is capable.

The Silabs is indeed MIS capable, but weren't we talking about the BCM tuner? The Silabs is a new pluggable tuner I believe, not the one shipped with Uno 4K originally?

No were are not talking about the SiLabs tuners. We are talking of FBC tuners, and they're only made by Broadcom.

And as someone says already, it won't help as long as driver support is not updated. I have not seen a driver update that adds S2x or PLS or multistream to the FBC tuners, so for the moment it's still irrelevant.

I think it's very probable the driver update will only come after the new tuners are publicly released.

It is a race between Gigablue and Vu+ who gets their drivers working sooner. My money is on Gigablue.

VU has actually (recently) released the new DVB-S2x FBC tuners. But when buying one has to make sure the shop doesn't sell old stock.

And driver support exists since the 2018-02-16 update:
update drivers(uno4k, uno4kse, ultimo4k)
- Fix DiSEqC timing
- Support Dual DVB-S2X FBC tuner(needs E2 update)

And the required E2-update is on http://code.vuplus.c...84082053d140fb3

The enigma2 bbappend is modified with two new patches (why they would want to patch their own source code is beyond me, but ok), but neither of them are included in that commit.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Just provide the output of tuner info (Huevos mentioned that before already, press info on tuner list).

If there is FE_CAN_MULTISTREAM capability we can "multistream".

If there is no FE_CAN_MULTISTREAM capability, they should enabled it.
