With a VU + Solo 4K, I will be able to see/record 8 channels instead of 4 from 1 LNB if I change them?

Change from http://www.x-sat.no/...scr4-satcr.html to http://www.inverto.t...-lnb-with-32-ub

VU+ Ultimo 4K, 19.2, 13, 4.8 E via switch on input/tuner 1. 1W. Inverto Unicable II LNB IDLU-32UL40 on input/tuner 2. OpenPLi 8.3

Sure, you can make even more recordings as the 8 transponders give you access to a lot more channels, in fact you should be able to record 20 or more channels from the 8 transponders. But that should already be possible with the 4 transponders you already get.

With the Solo 4K and the Unicable II LNB you will be able to record from up to 8 transponders simultaneously. And it only requires one aerial cable. I'm using that LNB here too for 28 east.

I'm sure you will have a new bottleneck somewhere and you can't record so much at once. Or am I wrong? Has anyone tried recording eight channels simultaneously? What does the box think about that? Let say 8 HD channels that will make 8x8000; If the bitrate is 8000. Processor, hard drive, etc. You might be missing somewhere or not? If there's some UHD channel inside...

Normal HD channels have less than 2 MB/s. Every internal harddisk can write 16 MB/s without problems.
I don’t think that the chipset has problems with 8 recordings. Nevertheless I guess there are limits (e.g. count of decoding units). So wether 20 recordings are really possible I don’t know.

Hi,

some people tested 20 recordings and had no problems. I think the new bottleneck is the user because who needs this. For me the biggest advantage is that I am not limited to 1 transponder is I only have 1 legacy cable.

Imagine with 2 FBC tuner cards installed you are theoretically able to record around >50 HD channel or >100 SD channel at the same time:-) Ok here you might get performance problems.

ciao

One of our members has a complete JESS setup, and is able to fully max out the Ultimo 4K. So I shouldn't be too worried about that. The box will run out of decoding capability before it runs out of anything else.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

This one :)

Eight LNB's connected using the two FBC inputs, plus a "conventional" dual tuner, plus FBC C tuner, makes 18 tuners, all of them usable without restrictions, no problems seen so far...

Would you be able to do such a test to make all 18 tuners recording and check that all recordings are correct/no picture interruptions, checkering, etc.
My observation is that SDD is good for this kind of experiment. However, I can not do such a test, but would be interesting to know limits, if any exist.
On the other hand, I understand that such a test has already been carried out. Cool!

My NAS can do 60 Mbps and I never see interruptions in recordings. I think my top (real life) use is about eight tuners. I am not doing any business stuff with it, so I am not really that interested, if it works for myself, I am ok with it.

My "problem" is that I often record more than 4 programs at the same time. 8 would satisfy me.. ;-)

Eight will work (as long as you don't burn up your subscriber card).

I understand that it was humour but be careful, if you card gets locked you will have to send back your card to your provider, they will check it and if it is due to the protection in the card that count too many simultaneous access on it, your provider will consider that you are doing illegal stuff (CS) and will refuse to replace the card. Think that official STB or labelled STB don't have such huge recording capability so they will never "burn" the official card.

This is true for Viaccess provider.

Most cards will, however, only start to give out random, false control words.

Is it possible to get 4 unicable II LNB 's on 1 satdish

For Astra1, Astra2, Astra3 en Hotbird ???

@ the moment my setup is now
1 SatDish
4 Twin LNB
2 4/1 Disqc Switches.
1 Formuler F1 (satbox)
 Digibit R1 (with sat-exe firmware)

2 Coax cables coming in the house

WOuld like to expand that and make more use of the digibit

Or better to replace the twin LNB into Quad LNB 's
What piece of hardware should i need then

Yes, but you have to custom program the LNBs. So you would need the programmer. Then you put all 4 together on the dish and connect them together and run them over a single cable. No need for switches or DiSEqC.
