I thought the OP was talking only about CI+ ……..

 

 

I think I have to appologize for not stating in the header that I am asking about CI+ technology which is what my provider uses.

No these pieces are NOT closed source.

 

The C code to check if another module is already busy is freely available (and pretty simple btw.), and the same applies to Service Relation Plugin, which then uses a small cheat in python with fake service references to convince enigma2 to use 2 Tuners if channels are CI assigned, despite that the 2 channels are on the same transponder.

 

Then due to the first check it works nicely to use 2 Modules even on same transponder....

Hi Forum.

 

I have been following the thread and have become a lot wiser.......I have realized that the simple way my brain beleives things work is defenitely not the way an Operating System works  

 

I will keep a look out for any progress in the OS regarding this matter.

maybe you should spend the time also for some reading what is the difference between an Operating System and a DVB viewing and recording application

Hi gutemine....You are right...that might have helped on the confusion 

 

However I am just a simple user who is really happy that you and other use  time to make free software which makes it relatively easy for me setting up my box.

 

I will try to dig a little deeper before i post again.....for example .... now I am aware that there is a difference between an Operating System and a DVB viewing and recording application.....honestly I beleived it to be alike...
