Hi all,

I have a complete development tree for a dm500 which i use to compile my own plugins.
Now I would like to make a copy of that on a USB disk.
That should not be dificult, but it is :smt093 (for me altough :smt082)

The good old 'cp' won't work, making a tarball of it all fails, MidnightCommander refuses and i even tried Nautilus wich of coarse failed as well ... (even as root/superuser)
They are are compaining about not able to copy softlinks ...

So therefore the question, how does one copy its development folder ?

regards,
pb24

use 'cp -a' for instance.

But, you have to make sure your usb disk uses a filesystem which supports symlinks
