They need to pay the license fees and I guess VU don’t want to do it for a stb as for dvb-s/c/t you don’t need it. That’s why I also don’t believe VU will add codec support for Dolby true hd or other formats not used by dvb broadcasts.

after some hours of testing, I agree something @betacentauri says on his first comment. maybe is a case of driver code... when the box find a file 4k it have to be on particular resolution. my first 4k tested video was 3840*1080 on h265 codec, no usual for a 4k file. today I could play some 4k files on player plugin, and, if the video file has 4k real standards, vu+ play the file without problems. I am sorry, maybe I would have to study some more days before report this. I take in consideration it on next times.

just a last thing to comment, by me, the 3 tested video files are with true hd and dolby 7.1 codec, the clue is that the file is 2160p.

now I want to make the last comment, there are 2 audio track on mkv 4k files that vu+ runs , the dolby true hd track is ok, but the dolby 7.1 track cause continuous vídeo cuts... so this suposed dobly 7.1, maybe a pseudo dolby 7.1, makes became crazy vu+ zero 4k and the meecol ki pro tvbox too...

Greetings
