Could you please tell me what version of Ubuntu should I use to cleanly compile the latest stable OpenPLi image from github?

I am a bit confused in regards to this. I see posts and tutorials mentioning all kinds of versions: 10.xx, 11.xx, 12.xx, 14.xx, 16.xx

What version is best to use as of today, to get the least amount of errors compiling the image as it is from github?

Thank you

For older images I'd recommend 16 (LTS).

On current development, 18 should work fine. It'll probably work with older versions too, though you might run into things that you'll need to patch.

Or use CentOS in combination with devtoolsets. It allows you to pick devtoolset-4 for OpenPLi 4, devtoolset-6 for OpenPLi 6, and devtoolset-7 for develop.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
