I've been playing with my new DM800, and I really miss my radiotimes import tool. I couldn't find any existing interface that allows me to write to eEPGCache, so I added a simple function that takes a service reference and a list of event data tuples.

I've attached a first version of the patch.

Still to do:
- finalize interface (is it complete enough?)
- determine how long I can take the lock around the eventDB
- create configuration GUI

I have some python code that uses this interface (a converter for radiotimes data, ofcourse), but it's still in early development. The conversion works, but I don't have the automatic download and configuration ready yet.

If you think it is useful, if you know of better alternatives around, if you'd like to develop a GUI, or if you have any other comments or remarks, please let me know ;)

Especially to PLi devs: is there any chance of this interface getting into PLi?

Gidday,

I see you're playing with the epg cache. I don't suppose you know how to stop epg data being overwritten by new epg info (ie 'now' and 'next' info) arriving from the DVB stream. I want to retain the static data (that I get off the internet) rather than the dynamic DVB data. This is because some channel providers put useless generic information in the DVB stream.

Any ideas you have on this would be welcome.

cheers

Ruud

I just tested the new jade image and it is looking good, I would love to test the new EPGCache importEvent function. Can you send me your python code unpolished as it is ?

thanks
