Openpli 6.2 could some one give me a how to getting EPG working ?
so far have installed from plug in EPG import plus changed record paths ect
prob is i open up user bouquets select BBC press red button -- the full EPG of 28e comes up -- not the single EPG ?
EPG button on remote brings up ( green ) add timer ( yellow ) single EPG ( blue ) multi EPG

No clue what you are on about, sorry.
What is "not working" about EPG? And why press a red button for EPG if there is an EPG button for that (that shows single EPG)? What did you expect the red button should do?
Then you switch to an issue with recording? If you press "green", or open the running timer, what is the recording path listed in the timer? And is that the same path as opens when you open the media player?

Which receiver are you using?
There is probably an EPG button on the remote control.
If you like the graphical MultiEPG view, you can define it by default by entering the Hotkey setup and select it as default one for the EPG key.

That depends on your provider(s).
If you currently have no EPG, chances are your provider doesn't use EIT (send via the satellite), and you may need to install the EPGimport plugin, but that doesn't support every provider.

Then you need to install:
opkg update opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-epgimport-rytec
One installed restart your box go into EPGImport plugin, press the blue button to select source, select all the UK provider.
Save the settings.
Press Yellow in EPGImport to start a manual import.
Once finished check that you have EPG on your channels.

To be complete, in ths sources, you need to open "Rytec UK Sat/Virgin", and select Freesat, FTA, International. For Sky 1 (live on sat) and for Sports you need a Sky smartcard.

It depends a bit on what you want to watch, not all FTA channels on 28.2 are present in the Freesat EPG. But you'll see that quick enough...

Which box? Did you check the timer to make sure it is recording where you think it is? Did you check that the media player has opened that location and not some other location?

A Vu+ Zero is sold as a zapper, not as a PVR, it can't record out of the box. You need to patch the drivers using the PAU extension.

You cannot record from illegal IPTV servers.
Recording on a FAT 32 is a bad idea since the lenght of the file is limited on such filesystem.
So better to format the USB stick in the receiver, it will be ext4 formatted.

can anyone explain from start to finnish how to setup and record on a usb stick FREE TO AIR channels on 28e or is there a youtube ?
I feel this thread is fast becoming really complicated with peoples different inputs ?
I know you cannot record from illegal IPTV severs ( i never said i wanted to )
when you purchase a new usb stick first thing you do is format it --- then you put it in your box and initialize your usb stick

You put your stick in the box and format it from the box so it will be formatted in Linux format (ext4) set yes to I want to use it has HDD.
To record, press the record button of your remote control or press the EPG button select the program you want to record and press the green button.
This is were you are talking about IPTV server and PAU is needed for recording! A VU Zero is a zapper box, not a recording box.
If you want to be able to record on it you NEED to install PAU.
No PAU : no recording.
usb fat 32
I have been using openpli for about 2 years with an older 6.0 image which i cannot remember how i set it up but never needed a pau extension plus isn't using pau
for iptv severs ? which as said only use for 28e
