Hi all,

First of all I would to say sorry my English not much quite good.

2 days ago I tried to DIY the 5.1 home theater system with my zgemma H5 (drive with OpenPLI 6.2), first time audio test it's not working the audio still same normal cheap speakers. I tried to turn off DTS and AC3 downmix from audio menu setup and open the 5.1 audio test again.

Now it's working, I can hear the audio like theater cineplex. But it's really loud! I can't make it softer by remote. The remote control working only make the audio silent (no any audio level bar show up) and very louder (just 1 bar audio level) so I adjust the volume of 5.1 amplifier system instead.

It's not quite convenient I think. It's would be good and better if the volume can be control by STB remote as normal. Could you please check this point would be appreciated.

Thank you.

This is how it should work... ! When downmix is off then ac3 etc. it is irectly forwarded to you surround set as is and the box can’t regulate the volume. so it should be done via the surround set. When you connect the surround set with hdmi you can try to forward the volume via hdmi-cec on your box. With optical cable this can’t be done.

Right. Or buy a Logitech or similar remote.

Thank you for clarify information, look like it's no choice.

My speaker system I bought is Microlab x3 5.1 (about 140 USD) it's come without remote control.

If it has HDMI-CEC configure it in OpenPLi to forward the volume keys.

No, it is a hardware limitation, AC3(+) is directly forwarded to the output.

If you use this, you need to set the volume of the box so that AC3 and PCM have roughly the same volume, and use the TV or Amp to control the volume for both.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
