Deep standby isn't standby at all, it's "off" (for all intents and purposes) for most users. So "Switch receiver off" would be better.

Yes agree, it should be called "off".

And I absolutely protest against using the word "box".

1) it almost is

2) for most users it will be far more clear

Most users don't understand the difference between standby and deep standby, really.

Why not? And what does the average end-user care about a difference (if any)?

Most users will compare standby with the standby on the TV set. Which is not comparable to both standby and deep standby of enigma.

Standby on TV set means everything off, almost no power usage, only "on" button works and if you press it, it will be on within a second.

That mostly resembles the "deep standby" of enigma, with the difference that you'll have to wait for 30-120 seconds before you can anything.

The "standby" of enigma has no resemblence to the "standby" of the TV set.

If I had to change menu entries, I would do as follows:

Sleep Timer

Simple Standby

Full Restart

Simple Restart

Full Standby

...and I'd sort them ….. the most used to the less used.

ST

SR

FR

FS

SS

The sleep timer is the most used?

No, but as it's on first place, I didn't move it.

I've never used it.

I would move it to another menu.

and what about…..

Light Restart

Full Restart

Total Standby

Light Standby

sleeptimer, standby, power off (or power down, this is the deep stand-by), restart all, restart partly, restart partly in debug mode might be an inproved approach...? Where partly could still stay enigma2?

I would get rid of all "technical" terms. No "enigma", "enigma2", "box", "dreambox", but go for "receiver" and "user interface" or "GUI".

Sleep timer

Standby

Power off

"Restart" or "Restart receiver"

"Restart user interface" or "Restart user interface only"

For the title of this menu, I would like "Power" or "Power options" and not "Power menu" that someone suggested above, because we are navigating in the menus anyway, so the word menu is redundant....

It should also be distinguished visually ...  if there will be 3 x "Restart ..." with almost same length, it will not happy solution.

Restart receiver

Restart user interface

Restart user interface in debug mode

They look pretty distinguishable to me.

And in Greek they would look like:

Επανεκκίνηση δέκτη

Επανεκκίνηση διεπαφής χρήστη

Επανεκκίνηση διεπαφής χρήση σε λειτουργία εύρεσης σφαλμάτων

funny, when translator translate "Επανεκκίνηση δέκτη" to "Reboot receiver" :D Next funny is, how we want use there understandable names and there will be line "restart gui in debug mode". WW, how you will translate it for your parents ? :)

My idea about restart GUI in debug mode - it has not place there in power menu, but it should be as switch somewhere in configuration (as expert only):

Restarting GUI in debug mode: Yes = always in debug mode, No = always in standard mode

My parents won't see that, I don't give them expert mode. For items in expert mode, I don't mind the terms be a big technical. ;)
