Hello, I am considering buying a Zgemma Star H2H which looks to be listed in the STB comparison as Zgemma H.2H. As far as I can tell from the Zgemma, the Star H2H has no HEVC decoding at all. If this is true, I'd rather buy the Zgemma H5 since it has HEVC decoding.

I believe the STB comparison for Zgemma H.2H has a mistake since is lists "HEVC decoding in DVB" and "HEVC decoding in media" as "+" rather than "-"

Assuming the SoC mentioned is correct, then you are right, the bcm7362 doesn''t support HVEC, the bcm73625 does.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Is the h2.h not obsoleted/eol/eos by now?

I think it would need to be quite a bit cheaper than the h5 to be still interesting, then.

When you do price comparison, H3.2TC would be my choice instead of H.2H.

It is almost the same price as H.2H, much cheaper than H5 and has dual cable and 1 satellite tuner.

I was looking for DVB-T2 with HEVC, and I don't know if H3.2TC has that. Actually, H3.2TC is not in the Settopbox_Comparison list at all, so I thought it wasn't supported.

Speaking of supported, I have my H5 now and it came with openatv-6.2-zgemmah52tc-20181011_usb.zip. However, it doesn't boot when I load any one of openpli-4-release-h5-20181112_usb.zip, openpli-6.1-release-h5-20180507_usb.zip, or openpli-6.2-release-h5-20181112_usb.zip. It does work when I flash back to openatv-6.2-zgemmah52tc-20181011_usb.zip. Could there be a problem with H5.2TC vs H5?

I have a H2.2TC running with 7.0-rc on my desk at the moment. It flashes, boots and runs fine, but I have some weird performance issues I'm currently looking at.

Well, I'm happy to say that I figured out that openpli was working just fine on my H5 all along. It wasn't getting past the boot message because it was waiting for input from the setup wizard and I didn't have the TV on, so I didn't see the message on the screen. I hate wasting time on things like that, but I guess that's all part of the learning curve. It also took me a while to learn how to work with the gui, but it didn't stump me as much as the boot message. I quite like it now...

I was looking for DVB-T2 with HEVC, and I don't know if H3.2TC has that.

All specifications can be found at https://zgemma.org/zgemma-h32tc.htm

H3.2TC supports AVC only.

The difference between H.2H and H.3.2TC is only the tuners.

H.2H > 1x sat & 1x cable

H3.2TC > 1x sat & dual cable
