My HD51 is running OpenPli multiboot 6.2  mode 12

1)  The network is configured with a fixed IP address.  It does not like to stay active.  Is there anything that I should do to ensure that the network is always active?

2) Software update shows that there are 223 packages to update.  I can display a list of these packages.  When I select 'Update and reboot' nothing is updated. I get the next two screens with 'Please wait...'.  Nothing more is shown. The box reboots and the network adapter is not active.  The hardware and network connection are fine. No similar problems with other builds.

3) I used telnet to update the box. There are now 222 packages to update.  Is there a later version of OpenPli multiboot that I could flash?

Network adapter is not active but network connections are fine?? That cannot be. Is it only in the GUI shown as disabled?

Regarding the updates. Are errors shown during installation?

We know there is a display issue in cases where Enigma starts faster than the DHCP server provides an IP address. This is fixed in develop and will be part of the upcoming OpenPLi 7.

Restarting Enigma will fix the display issue, as when Enigma starts again, the network has already received its DHCP address.

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thank you for the replies.  The network is not started even if I don't use DHCP.   Maybe OpenPLi 7 will be better.

Nothing has changed in that code for ages.

And you are contradicting yourself. How can you check for updates or telnet into the box if the network is "not active" or "not started"?

Yes we know of this issue. We're looking at it. It's seems to be caused by a recent BSP update from Zgemma.

The output above is not from (a standard) OpenPLi. There is no satdreamgr-bootlogo in OpenPLi.

I have not added any bootlogos to OpenPLi. However Satdreamgr_5 image is installed in Slot_3 so maybe it has something to do with it?

I can't comment on what you're doing. ;)

I can only see that the output you posted refers to files not present in OpenPLi.

If Satdreamgr is based on OpenPli, then could it be that on an image flash or settings restore the  "system" has used the other images settings backup - it is why for multiboot receivers, I tend to keep image backup settings on different media and I also have code to not list these backups for restore from certain images.

Well, it may be possible so it is not recommended to have OpenPLi and Satdreamgr in the flash at the same time?

In different partitions/slots it’s no problem. But if somehow packages from satgr are installed in PLI image, then this is a problem and not recommended at all.
Maybe really the backup is the problem.
