Is there an extension which can translate foreign EPG into Dutch or English?

There are a lot of nice channels out there and also a lot of these channels can be set on English language :)

The problem is they have EPG but this almost always in the language of the country where the channel is focussed on, for example Spain, Italy etc

The EPG is often complete in the foreign language and unreadable....

So i was looking if there is an addon/extension which can translate these EPG files into Dutch or Enlish (maybe using google translate?!?)

We had that one in the 3rd-party feed, but it was removed recently because it is no longer compatible, it crashes Enigma.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

You could try EPG Translator Lite Plugin, as it contains all the *.py isntead of pyo only and lots of facny code ...

I use it all the time, but there is indeed a serious problem with this plugin (and other plugins of the same author):

in the settings of the plugin there is an option to support 1080-skin. As  soon as you enable that option, the plugin gives trouble. As long as you don't use that option, the plugin is fine.

I overcome the skin-issue by skinning the screns of the plugin myself.

If that means the issue can be adressed in our skin(s), and someone is willing to contribute that, we can put the plugin back in the feed.

Given the last update date (sometime 2015) I don't expect anything from the original author.

Skinning of his plugins is very difficult and can only be done for a specific plugin setting. So it's fine for me, for my personal use, but not for generic use.

Although I'm absolutely no coder myself, even I can see that the way he handles screens/skin-size in his plugin is very bad. And indeed: his update frequency is not very high.

Hi,

Can you post the latest .ipk on this forum?  Or do you have a git somewhere where we can find it?

Thanks,

Pr2

No and No.

But I'm sure with the Plugin Name "EPG Translator Lite Plugin" your favourite search engine can handle the job to find it for you.

Hi,

you can switch the plugin itself to Full HD and it does some scaling then.

The moment you activate that option , the plugin distort the structure of the Enigma2 image ,as mentioned above by @

The reason why the posted ipks of EPG Translator Lite don't work is simple:

They are OLD and only the current Version 0.4-r5 of EPG Translater lite is supporting latest changes that Google did on their translate webpage.

And NO there is only a deb available of 0.4-r5, hence you just wasted your time with these old kits

I had a look at 0.4.r5, the only difference (2x in the code)

--- before_trans = 'class="t0">'
+++ before_trans = 'class="result-container">'

on develop still doesn´t work, something wrong with urllib, older PLi versions may work
