Hi Guys,

Love all news channels. Lately my receiver Vu+Zero 4k cannot tune to CNC World anymore. (Hotbird 13B, 12149V). I have it in my Bouquets, no picture and sound. If I go to All channels(red button) and tune to the channel, no picture and sound, than I go to the previous chanel and than up to CNC, I get picture but no sound and the picture resolution is strange 352x576.Than go to  Bouquets, again no picture and sound. But if I stream the channel with DreamboxEdit, the channel comes perfectly, with picture and sound! What could be the problem?

By the way, how can I access the "command line of this receiver?

Thanks

You're right!, I can't watch this channel with my 2 current receivers, ET10000 and Octagon SF4008 4K.

If I stream channel to computer, it's OK and If I record it, I can watch saved video perfectly on ET10000....

It has PCR problems.

To solve, temporarily, on telnet/ssh:

init 4

edit lamedb, look for this channel….

You'll see

1c59:...…..
CNC-001
p:Service Provide,c:000ce8,c:010ce7,c:030ce6,f:40

Change last line to,

p:Service Provide,c:000ce8,c:010ce7,c:031fff,f:5

init 3

and it Will work again.

Could you remind us how f:5 differs from f:40?

If you don't replace f:40 , and you edit lamedb and change PIDs, when you zap to anpther channel and come back to this one, your modified PIDs will be overwritten.

Isn't it ?

Flags on lamedb entries mean:

f.1  Keep service (untouched by SDT scanning)

f:2  Hide service (it won't appear on list)

f:4  Use PIDs

f:8  Lock (untouched by scanning)

f:40  New service

(I don't know if it exist more flags, I know these ones.)

If you combine them, you'll get that value of f:5, which is f:1 + f:4

Don't blame on your receiver.

It's provider fault, not VU fault.

Some receivers behave in a determined way when something is faulty, others behave different.

If channel configuration is OK, everything works, but that is not the case with this channel.

My SF4008 does the same as your VU+, black picture, and saving and streaming OK.

Just doing what I've told you earlier, channel has got working again.

Have you checked lamedb is correct ? (edited wihile enigma is OFF- init 4 )

If you press OK twice (second infobar),is last top line 318-7200-07257:3304:3303:8191 MPEG2 352x576i25 ???

Checked again. In lamedb notepad shows the new text, but the channel is not working. Probably I don't know how to put Enigma2 off. Please advice. My old receiver Openbox HD tunes CNC-001 perfectly. Channel info is different than yours:318-7200:07257:3304:3303:3302 MPEG2 352x576i25.In Enigma2 I have more files like: lamedb.backup, lamedb5 and alternative: #NAME CNC-001
#SERVICE 1:0:1:1C59:1C20:13E:820000:0:0:0:

Any Idea? Thanks

Channel info is different than yours:318-7200:07257:3304:3303:3302 MPEG2 352x576i25

That's the problem, the PCD PID value 3302

To switch enigma2 off, open a telnet session to your box , log in, and then execute: init 4

when you have modified lamedb file, you have to switch enigma2 on.

Do it with: init 3

Hi there,

What I did:

Opened telnet, logged in to the receiver (Vu Zero 4k). Disabled Enigma2, init 4, got black screen on TV, it means Enigma2 was off. Carefully replaced '000ce8,c:010ce7,c:030ce6,f:40' in  lamedb with  the text you gave me:'000ce8,c:010ce7,c:031fff,f:5', than executed init3. The picture came on TV with Open PLI logo and an warning message: Service unavailable! Check tuner configuration. All channels were missing! Than reloaded the channels from DreamboxEdit. Everything came to normal, but not CNC-001. As I posted before, My old receiver, Openbox Vi8 Pro, HD which is not 4k, scans CNC-001 with picture and sound. Made another  test. I have another old receiver, Linkbox 8000HD from US, not 4k. Scanned the channel, it came loud and clear! My conclusion is:The new 4k Enigma2 based Vu+Zero4k cannot handle low resolution channels. There is a bug either in the receiver, or PLI 6.2 Correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for the help.

How do you edit lamedb with ???

It seems something has been changed, because it's imposible that editing PIDs only on one service, make all channels missing.

If you use DCC E2 , you can edit lamedb and there are no problems at all.  I've done with 2 receivers.

I edited with notepad. But you may be right. There is something wrong with the provider as well. On the Linkbox receiver the channel was OK at the beginning but than suddenly started to freeze and the audio disappear. Simply Chinese technology. This channel is not important. It was a challenge for me. I am new with Enigma2 and learned a lot from you: how to get to the command line of the receiver, how  to stop Enigma and so on. Thanks again for the help. Case closed.

Notepad is not the right program to edit.

Attach here if you want, your lamedb, and I'll modify it for you.

This channel, since a few hours ago has reception problems, it has heavy pixelation.

Signal on Hotbird is a repeated signal from another satellite, so they have problems receiving that channel from elsewhere.

Anyway,here you have lamedb.

In order to attach, better use zip file.

Attached File  lamedb.zip   81.81KB   4 downloads

You were right from the beginning! It is a provider fault, not receiver or software. Now the resolution changed to 480x576i25. They may fix it one day. If you like alternative news from China, you can watch CGTN, which is full HD. By the way, DCC-E2 is a very nice piece of software, no need of telnet.

Thank you for your time and help.

Now the channel has correct picture, and it's still 352x576. But PCR problem is still present.

Do you receive it now correctly ?

No, same as before. Changed the lamedb with the file you send me, no picture and sound, no streaming possible. Changed to the original one, No picture and sound, but streaming possible.

Regards.
