Hi,

nope SVideo is also used on VCRs. And beside Component also RGB can be used.

If you happen to have a SuperVideo VCR.

 

"And beside", SVideo is still composite video, just a bit better.

 

And also besides, no, VCRs really do not output RGB (component) as it's senseless, as the picture is actually recorded as composite video, not component. There may have actually been a few VCR's that would output component video, but the picture quality is exactly equal to composite video.
