That depends on the telnet client. If you use Windows, I suggest you install PuTTY, which as an option to log the session to a file.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

It is just a generic one like in the ebay picture. I dont have access to it at the moment so cant check the chipset.

I can tell you, I tried the small square type and couldn't get it to work with Zgemma, but it worked on my xtrend et8000.

PS Spoke to soon. Here it is

When did you try?

With 7.0-rc I've united the available drivers as much as possible. The kernel versions f the ET8000 and the Zgemma's are virtually identical (4.10.6 vs 4.10.12).

Was early summer 2018. Of course I would have been on 6.2 release

The issue was with the zgemma. Because I got a little hot headed about it at the time. Couldn't understand why it wouldn't work.

I did something last night it was very late, this was saved on var/log, i think is the dmesg -c command, please check and let me know if is that?

Here it is:

You need to follow the sequence I gave you. Switch the box off, disconnect the wifi stick, start the box, login, run a "dmesg -c", plug the wifi stick in, run "dmesg", and post that output.

I need to see if the box detects the stick, and what happens when it does.

Was early summer 2018

Ok. Should be less of an issue in 7.0.

There are still exceptions, because you can't find a driver source that builds for all different kernel versions in use, but that shouldn't affect your two boxes.

I did that, now is above dmesg -c or just dmesg, can you check?, because last night it was late, and kind of do not remember well what i did?

How do i save this file on telnet when i do the commands?,

I'm assuming your using windows.

In your telnet window. After you've ran dmesg. With your mouse highlight all the text you want to copy and right click

Go to where you want to paste the text, click on the space where you want to place the text. The press ctrl and v

The "-c" outputs and clears the buffer, so the next dmesg only shows events from after the clear. The output you posted shows the events from the boot of the box, there is no evidence of connecting a USB device to the box in that log.

@Search40,

Your box loads a mediatek driver:

[ 11.078000] usb 1-2.2: reset high-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-brcm
[ 11.162000] mt7601u 1-2.2:1.0: ASIC revision: 76010001 MAC revision: 76010500

after which the kernel crashes...
