hello,

i am running openpli in my box, recently i switched image language to Arabic and i found Arabic language interface has poor Arabic translation with many speech and spell faults.

since arabic is my native tongue i can provide better translation for Arabic language inside openpli PO file, it also can help Arabic users who dont know enough English to engage with image as well.

i tried to get PO file but i didnt find, can image team provide me the file to go work on it?

Thanks for the proposal, the best tools to edit the po file for translation is PoEdit but go to preference - advance - and tick keep original file format.

Feel free to contact me if you need help with translation.

You're welcome brother

Inside my poedit version there is no options to keep the original file format, otherwise i can easily save the file format as .po as well, if that what you mean

Hi,

Open PoEdit look for Preferences... menu a windows will open with different icon on top, select the Advanced on and in this window you will find the option I am refering to: keep original file formatting.

If you want to test your translation, when you save it PoEdit will generate a file name:  ar.mo

Rename this file into: enigma2.mo  then you transfer it with (with FTP) into this folder (replace the existing one with yours):

/usr/share/enigma2/po/ar/LC_MESSAGES/

Then restart the box.

Hi,

Thanks for your work.

I have already created a pull request (PR) for you into the develop branch of OpenPLi.

https://github.com/O...igma2/pull/1887

Question:

- Why do you provide a font file?

- Is there any problems with the default one used by OpenPLi for arabic language?

- Are you sure that this font can be distributed freely?

Thanks,

Pr2

Is this translation created against rc or develop? It needs to be added to the correct branch (rc will be merged back into develop).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I saw that, that is why I asked. ;) A merge into develop means it will not be present in 7.0.

Hi,

I have update all the po files from the RC branch today (and it also include the full french translation and the arabic from this thread in the RC branch):

https://github.com/O...igma2/pull/1892

Once committed I will ask every translators to check and update the po files from the RC branch to have a very good level of translation in OpenPLi 7 for the language where translators are active.

A font file is preferred for me , yes the default font has a problem with between letter over-spacing but it's not that big problem
However, i will keep testing many fonts to get sure that the fonts I will suggest is bug-free, former and full free licensed, I'm not sure about the one I've provided

Thanks
