Hello,

I  have a dm800se with openpli4!

Finally,  I got a usb dtt stick, seems astrometa:

root@dm800se:~# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 15f4:0131

Detailed info not available, I do NOT know why:

root@dm800se:~# lsusb -vvd 15f4:0131
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 15f4:0131
root@dm800se:~# lsusb -vvd15f4:0131

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002

Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 15f4:0131

Anyway, Installing packages from feeds: "enigma2-plugin-drivers-dvb-usb-rtl2832" and "kernel-module-dvb-usb-rtl2832" does NOT help, tuner is NOT added after reboot.

I need dvbt2 functions, that are main free services in my area.

Please tell me anyone options I have.

Is another package that is needed ? Or is nothing to do  with openpli4 ?

is needed a custom build ? (I am hopefull to do it slowly step by step)

thanks in advance!

Detailed info not available, I do NOT know why:

Because busybox provides stripped versions of tools, to save space in flash.

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 15f4:0131

The problem with this device is that the USB ID has been re-used for sticks with different chipsets (RealTek RTL2832P, Panasonic MN88472 or MN88473, Rafael Micro R828D).

So chances are yours doesn't have a 2832 chip which may be why the kernel drivers don't work.

It also needs Linux Kernel  > 4.0

I have it running great ( 1 year +)  on Kernel 4.10 on my Xtrend et8000 with some tweaks from the Post above.

Another reason why the DM800 is likely not going to work. Antique box with a ditto kernel. ;)

Wakes up for repeat timers no problem.

@ColinB,

Could you re-upload the attachments from post #8? For some reason they are not on disk, so you get a (very confusing) permission error when you try do download.

according to file header that are .7z files, just rename Astrometa.zip to Astrometa.7z, the files are OK, may be some (un)packing tools get confused

To get the firmware properly.

Log into your box with telnet.

cd /lib/firmware
wget http
://palosaari.fi/linux/v4l-dvb/firmware/MN88473/01/latest/dvb-demod-mn88473-01.fw
reboot.

This is the front end swap script that is needed to get the DVB-T2 working

Save the following script as /usr/bin/enigma2_pre_start.sh and make executable.

#!/bin/sh

# check if adapter already renamed and exit

[ -c /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend9 ] && exit 0

# do the rename

mv /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0 /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend9
mv
/dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend1 /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0

Could anyone please help me to get my Astrometa stick working for DVB-T2 and/or DVB-C.

I have a Xtrend ET10000 and a VU+ Zero 4k and I am planning to buy a Dreambox DM920.
Both the ET10000 and the VU+ still operate with OpenPLi 6.2.

Until now the stick has been in use for DVB-T with dvb-usb-rtl2832 (1.1-r0.2) drivers, works on both receivers.
Since DVB-T has switched over to DVB-T2, there no use for DVB-T anymore.

The VU+ has the capability to decode H.265, which is necessary for the DVB-T2 I want to receive.
On the VU+ I notice the kernel is 4.1.20 which surprises me because the reciever is quite new.
Is there a way to upgrade that? What will happen if I upgrade OpenPLi to release 7?

Copying the firmware-file with wget resulted in this error, but it was copied anyway:
wget: can't open 'dvb-demod-mn88473-01.fw': File exists

It seemed that /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend9 was already present but /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend1 (to rename it to frontend0) doesn't exist.

So I'm stuck.

On the Xtrend:
Kernel is 4.10.6
Although it has no H.265 capability maybe I can stream to the VU+ and open the channels there?
On the other hand if DVB-C would work, that would be nice too.

Copying the firmware-file resulted in the same error again.

In the folder /dev/dvb/adapter1 is only frontend0
So obviously I get the error message:
mv: can't rename '/dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend1': No such file or directory
Made the script anyway and another reboot to be sure.
After the reboot the stick isn't recognized anymore, so not even for DVB-T anymore.

Please help, I'm not so advanced as you all guys.

No, the kernel version is dictated by the drivers, and both are dictated by the manufacturer.

And if you install OpenPLi 7.1-release, you have that running ;). It doesn't change the kernel version, it will update the drivers to a newer version.

I'm trying to receive DVB-T2, not DVB-T. I thought this whole thread was about that.
@ColinB has it working on his ET8000, I have a ET10000 which is similair, then I could stream the channel to the VU+, that works tested it already with the internal DVB-C/T2 tuner but I want to use that one for DVB-C or add the stick for DVB-C.
In the Tunerconfiguration I cannot change the tunertype to DVB-T2 or DVB-C.

Ah, ok.

It could be that the tuner isn't detected as a hybrid tuner? That code has changed in 7.1.

@Littlesat might know more.
