On windows I can use several editors to edit lamedb, python files,......  including DCC_E2 too (has been updated recently).

But which editor can I use in Ubuntu  (inside filezilla) ??

I've tried the default one, Gedit, but destroys files because adds something at the beginning, and f.i. lamedb isn't read anymore.

Same here- no issues whatsoever with any text editor I used under Ubuntu.

Well.. Maybe LibreOffice could make a trouble, but who would use THAT for config files?

thanks to everybody.

I don't know where is the problem.

I've been working with windows without any problems at all, bur some time ago I'm working with Ubuntu.

I open filezilla, I go to /etc/enigma2

(in a telnet window: init 4)

I edit lamedb, and I just change a small thing, a channel name, adding f.i a '1'.

I close it and filezilla asks to apply changes to file.

I say "yes".

(init 3)

and ALL channels have dissapeared when enigma Works again….

file Transfer has to be ASCII o BIN ?

PlayOnLinux > install http://www.dreamset-...reamset-history - it should work better for that task...

But in Ubuntu.. Why won't you just open file explorer (would you believe that I don't remember its proper, Ubuntu, name?), and then go Network=>name of your receiver.

Much simplier than filezilla, I'd say.

Solved. The automatic transfer type on Settings didn't work for non extension files.

Set to binary and it finally works.

Thanks. Anyway I'll try geany.

But for channel list editing, you should really try Dreamset editor. Best!
