I have a number of devices whcih has to be charged with a microUSB connector.
Lately, I had lots of problems to create reliable connection. As a consequence, I got the message that the device would only be charged at slow speed.
It helped sometimes to use another cable. But I found out that the majority of the cable in my possession have the same problem.
Fiddling around with the connector, solved sometimes the problem.
I could always buy some new cables. But I suspect that after some time they would have the same problem.
Lately I found a solution: A Magnetic MicroUSB connector
You insert the tip into your device USB port. The rest of the cable can be detached.
You leave the tip inserted into the device. As a consequence you have to buy tips for every device you own.
But they are available. Tips are available for MicroUSB, USB-C and Iphone connectors.
You can use the same cable for all devices. (I bought a pack of 3 cables, and 4 extra tips) Cost € 23,.00)
I am using this now for month, and I am very satisfied.
