Hi,

Someone report to me that he uses OpenPLi 7.0 stable from 20190116, turn the box its Zgemma H9S into standby.

Image turned off and no sound.

Go to OpenWebif and zap to a FTA channel for exemple.

You will have no picture on TV but the channel sound will be played.

Can someone else confirm this bug?

Thanks,

Pr2

I only have an H9T here, if this is a drivers issue not really relavant I think.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Confirmed. Tried H9S pluged to PC monitor via HDMI, used fallback tuner. Zgemma to standby => monitor sleeps.

Open Owif, click to any service - monitor wakeup, on screen is "standby screen" with Tuner in use, Current time, Streaming Info and audio is on.

Answer from suppot:

We can confirm the issue.

The video encoders are disabled in standby/HDMI shut down.

We will check as the video encoder should been still available for streaming in standby.

It looks like this is about streaming, not transcoding, so no encoders are required.

The bug is not while streaming, just zap from the OpenWebif with the box still in standby.

Is this only on this box.?.. because openwebif zaps to the channel by just starting it when zap on box is enabled on owif. (this is a setting)... probably in openwebif it lacks a check for the box being in standby that it should not zap....

The bug is not while streaming, just zap from the OpenWebif with the box still in standby.

Why would you want to do that?

Maybe other drivers do not tune in in standby so likely owif’s issue was masked out!. But when in standby owif should not zap! (Start a new service) and that happens!! So where owif zaps (start the service) needs a check for the box not being in standby I purpose

Why do you need it ? F.eg. if you want see fresh EPG in owif for some service (f.eg. you want create timer etc) and box is in standby, then press L mouse on service name.  Box zap to wanted service, but does not turning HDMI output.

But H9 turn on TV in this case, displaying "standby screen" and audio (in last volume, as was used) is on whole room...  EDIT: audio goes on max in this case on H9 to HDMI!

Btw - why should not zap Owif in standby ? It is Qwif's feature, not bug.

Example for what it is useful and why it is not a bug:

- box in stanby - epg missing on services (picture 1).

- zap to service (in standby) , refresh page in browser and ... 'voila' ...  epg exist and can be created timer, readed epg. looking in epg etc (picture 2)

Apologies if I'm getting totally the wrong end of the stick, but timer recordings on my ET10K run in standby, using one or more tuners as and when required.

Ims is totally right in its explanation why it can happen that we zap without streaming from owif.

About OWIF on Zgemma 9, on old look when you goes to check the stream link you only have IP, no channel references etc

When you switch OWIF to new look, it's shows correct.

On Zgemma H3 series on old/default OWIF look its shows correct stream link with channel references without changes to new look.

btw about this OWIF bug on standby, its no matter, just founded and reported :)
