I see you created a new branch for multituner. Can I ask you what troubles you found in this connection? That's a pretty good correction and imho there are very few things that need to repair or correct. Yes, I can call up the GSOD, but these are pretty simple mistakes that can easily improve. I've been testing this innovation with my Triple tuner (dm920) and this works really nice. But I understand that it gives everybody else troubles, is that so? Would it help you if I put some GSOD logs here with a thorough description? I understand that you will solve them in your own way. And finally, what tuners supported by PLi today have Multituner? Who on the team have that multituner?

Don’t worry it needs a complete redesign... I’m now waiting on appropriate hardware... what I did until know is not what we need...

And this appropriate hardware is what? Has Vu also done that? Anyway, it's a beautiful upgrade and some users say it works very well. Some minor bugs only. (easy to fix)

There is a small improvement for multi tuners that can switch from eg dvb-c to dvb-t as it combines the enable/disable tuner with the tuner mode... that part works perfectly with my changes...
But there are also tuners that can do DVB-s,c,t at once without switching (so you can do eg dvb-s and dvb-c on one tuner)... let’s call it truemultituner that past does not work yet and gives gsods etc...

Edision os mini plus and os mega have such tuners. VU don’t have that afaik.

And
https://www.silabs.c...9-D60-short.pdf
With that change these tunes are also working at a time.
Or you mean something else with your post #4 ?
I'm make a test where I try to put the tuners with both of them to record and see if it’s successful, I'll let you know. Separate they work at 100% and It's just because of this innovation.

Our e2 binary cpp code is ready for it... except our used interface isn’t ‘human’ frendly... I moved it to a feature branch as I first need the hardware before I can finalise it

I made test with good results: combination A:s2+t2 both tuners recording. No GSOD, I can stop recording separately.
Before I could not do that.
Your actions are understandable, approving it.

With dm920 looks like on added screenshots, I think that's very promising.
Right now cannot configure tuners.

Yes is work in progress... and it will be relatively slow progress due to lack of time and also due to the issues I'm experiencing...

Can these DMM boxes also do Hotswitch the modi?... as I just changed today the 'description' in the code for these type of tuners to HotSwitchableMultiType...

I'm now checking if we have DVB-S and (DVB-T or DVB-C) if a tuner can do the hotswitch... but maybe I need to change it to another mechanism... (SystemInfo?)

But also please note we do not support these DMM boxes!!!

I'm not sure what it is ‘HotSwitchMultiType’ or ‘Hotswitch’?
I can see, that the code itself it's a terribly complicated. When I tried first steps, it seemed like it was easier. I'm ready to report the error logs, if it could be useful? (You can take it just as information). If DMM boxes can use it also, that Could be a breakthrough, but yes, I know...

I made YouTube video with dm920+Open Vision+OpenPLi Multituner: First commits - but they need a lot of improvements:

littlesat, did you get your box? If you use enigma2 regular develop branch, how does this multituner then work with your box? Or that doesn't work at all (without changes)?

I have it working now on a v8... I now need to check if it breaks regular stuf... I renamed it to Hotswitchable(tuner)... you only need to copy Ninmanager.py and SatConfig.py from the multituner branch... I hope I can merge it to develop in eg two weeks.

So it may work now? I will try in tomorrow with my Non - supported dm920 with your last changes. So far, it was like the first Comm worked (as on the video), but As more things of your changes I added, then more problems I had.

I will make a test today.

Multituner next test with up-to-date enigma2.
lib\python\Components
NimManager.py
In my box
NimManager.pyo
in folder:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components
lib\python\Screens
Satconfig.py
In my box
Satconfig.pyo
in folder:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens
I will make backup from NimManager.pyo & Satconfig.pyo
Then I put the files NimManager.py & Satconfig.py on their place on my box, will restart my box.
And I will report today bit later, how it goes with my dreambox!
Anyone can do it with his box, if enigma2 is up-to-date.

I understand that Hotswitch is poor man's multituner? It means it can do at once one or other, but not both at once?

The silabs si2169 has 4 inputs (2x dvb-s2 and 2xDVB-CT2) but has only 2 output right?

So it's a dual poor man's multituner like you call it.

I do not know if silabs code is capable to switch on the fly. That you see in your settings 4 tuners and capable to use 2 on same time?

If so I think this is wrong and you should see 2 tuners which you can configure with the dvb-s2 and dvb-ct2 settings.

I see for the DM920 only 5 tuners available and non are multituner capable.

Dual dvb-S2 FBC

Dual dvb-C FBC

Dual dvb-S2

Dual dvb-CT2

Dual dvb-S2+ 1x dvb-CT2

and S2 version but then with S2x and multistream

No, none of them are multituner. You forgot the Triple tuners  ;)

My test ends with next GSOD, added.

The multituner in the Edision OS Mini + is an AVL6862, haven't been able to test it yet.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
