No. Nothing that requires DRM will work on an open linux box.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

No. Nulla che richiede DRM funzionerà su una finestra Linux aperta.

Ho un account Amazon Prime ..

Non voglio vedere gratuitamente

Also for Netflix.

I don't have a smart TV.

Only a XTrend 10000 IPTv  and old Panasonic plasma TV.

thks

Fla

That is not the problem.

The problem is that none f these platforms will create a working client, as DRM can't be enforced. As even if you have a valid account, you can still record and distribute, which is what they want to prevent.

Maybe for boxes that can be rebooted into Android... but then it is not ‘open Linux’ enigma2 anymore...

It is most likely the reason for offering Android in the first place, so you can run "smart tv" services on the box too.

it depends, on some boxes you can install a browswer, but most, especially the older ones, aren't fast enough. The old Mipsel boxes have a CPU comparable to a late '90 PDA....

If there was an Intel (x86/x64) low power receiver capable to run chromium, then Amazon Prime and Netflix would be possible. Maybe 4:4:2 feeds and other crazy stuff!

I would be possible run Debian on it :)

Please, buy a second hand Chromecast, it would handle Amazon prime and Netflix just fine.

And what about Youtube TV packed in chromiumos plugin or webkithbbtv plugin? I suppose they are also nonfree and run on enigma2 just great. You also can't record stream from them.

If anyone packed Amazon Prime plugin or Netflix plugin or Hbo Go plugin in chromium with cooperation with these providers, I suppose it would be also possible.

I use Debian linux as my only desktop on PC for years and I have plenty of nonfree paid software on it. I'm just a user, I earn enough to not use illegal iptv and I'm happy to pay for someone else's work that I want. On Debian I can also ofcourse watch netflix, hbogo, amazon using chrome. Maybe once these providers will come also to Enigma2 OS which I like, especially OpenPLi :-) Until then I have chromecast which is also great and I use it instead of TV interface and TV remote control, that I don't like, because my primary reception of television is from satellite and these stream services supplement my main reception.

Only problem is with Amazon Prime Video. Its application doesn't support chromecast so you have to mirror whole phone's screen (which is far from ideal) or cast it to chromecast from your laptop which is fine. But I don't like this approach so I don't subscribe Amazon Prime Video.

Sounds like Kodi 18 (through widevinecdm) or throught web browser (through widevinecdm).

I doubt that Google (or Netflix) provided SDK to dream.

Anyway, time will tell if it's true, or just "dream".

As long as nobody is grabbing it from video memory nobody will have access to it. ;)
It's no playback via Gstreamer.
