And what are the differences in the satellites.xml? And did you include/exclude radio channels or data channels?

This is interesting. The duo4k has two slots for FBC tuners. How can there be a tuner that only provides one or two tuners (letters) like one of the poster said?

Don't the new (DVB-T2) dual-tuners fit in the new slot-type (the slots that hold the FBC-tuners)?

Maybe, I am not really familiar with them. I'd expect the "new T2 tuners" to be similar to the existing C/T tuners though, which are FBC tuners, so I'd expect 8 tuner letters.

EDIT: found it. They're indeed "regular" tuners with an "FBC" socket.

Now I am lost, what T2 tuner are we talking about? ... or does it exist only one T2 tuner module for DUO 4K.

Aha, now I see on the rear of the DUO 4K it is text "TUNER A (FBC)" and "TUNER B (FBC). Little strange call it FBC slot since not all tuners are FBC. But I think all tuners fit in this slot are using MTISF bus and not any 'old' TS data signals (serial or parallell).

Does it exist any FBC T2 tuner?

I am not sure, but there is a C/T tuner for this slot and it's an FBC tuner. That's where the (my) confusion comes from.

Correct, it is a Dual DVB-T/T2 MTSIF Terrestrial Tuner. See also http://www.vuplus.com/sub/sub0112.php, halfway down...

Currently in use: VU+Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), Amiko Viper T2C (T2), SAB Alpha Triple HD (S2+T2), Zgemma H3.T2C (T/C), Zgemma H6 (fallback), VU+Zero (fallback)

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Then that explains the lot.

It seems the drivers for it are not yet that mature. I've seen quite a bit of complaints already.

Scan today Solo4k

Open blackhole = 99 channels with all HD

Openpli =   66 channels

So issue is not specific to the receiver/tuner.

When you get a chance to do more testing...
Lets just use the Sol4k for now to avoid complications about new tuner.

Test 1.
Enable debug logs in OpenATV and restart to take effect. Perform a scan.
Upload your debug log, default location is home/root/logs on those images
Also upload your lamedb/5 files.

Test 2.
Save the xml file from OpenATV to your PC so we can re-use it.
Flash openPLI and reuse xml file
Start in console mode or in debug mode
Scan then upload debug/console logs as well as lamedb/5 files

This will allow for comparisson

They are cable only, no DVB-T. And I believe they have to go in the first slot if used as a combo with satellite.

The slot/connection is the same for the various cards

You can get:
FBC satellite tuner card/complex
FBC DVB-C tuner card
Twin Terrestrial tuner card (VU+ Dual DVB-T/T2 MTSIF Terrestrial Tuner for Uno 4K Uno 4K SE Ultimo 4K Duo 4K)

Yeah, so the "new tuner" connector is just a "new tuner" connector and not just an "FBC tuner" connector as I believed.

Yeah, so the "new tuner" connector is just a "new tuner" connector and not just an "FBC tuner" connector as I believed.

Yes and 3rd slot in the Ultimo 4K (and PnP slot in Solo4K) is just an old style connector.
