Can you please execute this in telnet and post the result?

cat /proc/cmdline

I want to be sure that recovery was really flashed. Or the other way round: When you start the box and immediately press and hold the power button (for at least 5 seconds) at the front of the box, does a bootmenu appear?

Indeed...

Indeed what? You can't flash via de bootloader? Zip or unzipped?

If that is the case, we need to inform the manufacturers.

Is this the case for all hardware that supports this method?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

And I'm not sure, but it might be that you have to flash via the new bootmenu.

I flashed a H9 combo via USB stick without any problems.

1. Put a packed image, so the h9combo-emmc.zip, on stick.
2. Activate the recovery mode.
3. Go to bootmenu which IMHO should be named ‘flashmenu’.
4. Choose flash local image or something like that. (First option)
5. Choose the image you just put on the stick and this is flashed to the choosen slot.

Boot the box with the image you prefer.

If that is a Kingston Traveler of any decent size, it's by default formatted in NTFS. Which won't work.

You should not unzip the emmc file in the stick you need to put it there as zip! As downloaded!
