I would like to install a usb stick on vu+ zero (image is openpli 7). Is there any size limitation for the usb stick? How should the usb stick be formatted? Is there any step-by-step description available, about how to format it and how to make it available as /hdd on vu+ zero?

In fact you can use any USB stick. Best is to remove ALL partitions on the USB stick before installing it on the VU+ Zero. VU+ Zero will detect the stick and ask you to initialize/format it. Preformatted (read Windows) sticks usually are FAT32 formatted and this is limited to 4GB filesize..

Does Vu+ Zero detect it at reboot, or also at runtime?

I assume the user uses OpenPLi, if the question is asked here.

In OpenPLi, if you plugin a USB devices that is recognised, you get a popup, and the option to do something with the files on it.

If the USB devices is not recognised, nothing visible happens.

It will however show up in Menu / Setup / System / Expert settings / Harddisk / Initialisation, where you can select it to give it the correct format. When done, is is automatically mounted in /media, and a samba share is generated for it. There is no need for a reboot.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.
