I don't understand why anyone would have interest in this receiver. It's just the same simple HiSillicon receiver that currently dominates the market and I am sure some of the competitors have exactly the same receiver on sale for less. With the advantage that they're open and can be supported by an open image.
Amlogic SoCs support more A/V formats and if you search for best android players supporting real 3D blurays etc you'll see, I think DMM wants to have a dual-boot STB featuring android and enigma2 (HiSilicon is lazy on this).
We have so many boxes with Amlogic like WeTek or Alien5 (ARM64 like dreamone) and other metas we have in https://github.com/O...2/openvision-oe but they all suffer from bad support, Amlogic does not provide good software support even we know they support so many playable formats and I think DMM is targeting this part "Software support" which we know they can.
Any dreambox running a closed-source enigma2 image is trash in my point of view but if it's going to improve the Amlogic support it's a good sign and if they want to be closed-source again then it's going to be another garbage good for backup creators like any DMM based image. (DreamOS LOL)

It has no hisilicon chipset. It uses Amlogic S922X.
Even worse

in the meantime little to no new support from closed source images. what a waste of money
