Updated our Xtrend 9200 to the new 7.1 image. All is working well but i have one question.

Considering this is the very latest images why is it again not possible to install the Mediaportal plugin?

I have spent a long time trying but no luck. Is it possible? Thank you in advance for any help.

Remove samba and webinterface to gain a significant amount of space in flash.

Before you start fiddling, perhaps first confirm you can't install it because a lack of space?

On WIFI mode DNS are lost after a reboot.

If you install a new image in wifi mode, the backup is impossible, because the WIFI is deactivated.

On 2160 p 30 Hz, sometime it is necessary to reselect this mode because the screen dimensions are bad.

On DUO 4K only this video mode is working.

We are aware of this, it is on the todo list.

I can't flash OpenpLi 7.1 on my Formuler F1. Don't know what to do, please help.

I followed the instructions at https://wiki.openpli...ivers:Formuler:

  1. - I downloaded and unzipped the OpenPLi 7.1 release for Formuler F1. I now have a folder named 'formuler1' and inside it are 4 files ('imageversion', 'kernel.bin', 'noforce' and 'rootfs.bin').
  2. - changed 'noforce' tot 'force' In order to load the image automagically.
  3. - formatted an USB stick (2.1Gb) to FAT32
  4. - copied the OpenPLi 7.1 release to the stick
  5. - powered off the receiver
  6. -inserted the usb stick into the rear port (and ensured no other usb devices are plugged in)
  7. -powered the receiver on.

After booting no flashing, I'm still stuck with OpenPLi 4.7

I tried to insert the usb stick into the back port, no effect.

I copied the OpenPLi release to a HD, formatted ext4, no effect.

How can I flash this release?

Thank you,

André

Try a different brand or size usb. Some work, some don't.

What format is the usb in?

I am not sure if that matters but it might need to be a specific format such as Fat32.

Why not flash from the menu, with a backup in the root or use the USB stick as the medium where the backup and/or the image is saved => https://wiki.openpli...mage_support.29

He has "OpenPLi 4.7" installed. Not sure what that is, but I assume it doesn't have that feature. ;)

Thanks for your reactions. OpenPLi 4.7 is the kernel version of OpenPLi 4  installed early 2017.

OpenPLi 4 indeed doesn/t have that feature.

I tried using 2 types of USB sticks and 1 Scandisc 8 Gb. All formatted FAT32.

My Formuler F1 can read these sticks and Scandisc as when I store a movie file at them I can play the movie.

But when I only have the OpenPLi 7 flash files at them Formuler says 'no files'. Probably because these can't be played.

I'll by another type of stick and try again.

When I unzipped the OpenPLi download there was a folder named 'formuler' and inside it where the files. Am I correct that I have to store the folder with files at the root of the USB stick?

Still not installing.

I installed Rufus on a pc (Windows 10) and formatted some USB sticks. It turned out 1 stick had faulty blocks. Another stick was OK and I formatted it to FAT32 using Rufus.

Then I took the usual steps.

Copied the folder 'formuler1' and my backup of OpenPLi 4 to the stick.Turned of the power of Formuler1. Inserted the stick into the rear. Powered the receiver.

Then when booting after a few secs I saw the OpenPLi 4 start-up screen, the screen went black for a ssecond and then a tv-programm showed.

Is there something wrong in the steps I take?

I am not near a PC nor owe a F1 but I assume you have to push a button right after power up.
If not, you might check whether a file called noforce in the package / on the stick and rename this to force. Then power up the box again and the flashing should start.

Flashing the Receiver.
1) Power off the receiver
2) Ensure no other USB devices are plugged into the receiver while flashing.
3) Insert the USB stick containing the image files into one of the USB ports on the receiver, rear USB port is advised if possible.
4) Power the receiver on.
5) When the receiver powers up you will prompted on the receiver’s front display.
6) As soon as you see this press the power button to the left side of the receiver to start the flashing process.
7) If successful the receiver will reboot it self after the flashing process has completed.
8) Remove USB stick that contains the images files.

Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Problem solved. Thanks all.

I took the box to a friend who has a pc and copied the installer folder to the usb stick. Then connected this stick to my formuler1 and flashing the installer went ok.

I guess the problem has to do with using a mac to copy the installer file to the usb stick. mac writes probably some invisible files that disturb the flashing process.

Thanks again.

That is exactly what Rufus does, so do not use it for this.
