now I can see the vps option in timer- menu and I can check the functions "yes" or "yes (Security mode)" ... but the Function of vps is not right.
In some tests today I could not clearly adjust the problem.
Some records began exactly at the lead- time (in my settings = 5 minutes).
Other records did not start at all...
Tomorrow I will do some further tests.

This night, I programmed the timer "Inferno der Flammen" in "Das Erste HD" and the recording was only 1 minute, 39 seconds.
Anything got wrong with the vps- recording.
I think somewhere is still a mistake in the modifications- script.

If i'm sure that the sender supports vps, i use the normal option vps.
If i do not know beforehand which transmitter is being recorded (for example autotimer) then i use the security mode. If the station does not support vps, recording will be performed at the programmed pre- and post-run time.

In that case you’re possibly barking at the wrong tree as this is the OpenPLi support board. 
Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.
Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen.
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.
Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

Not going to work, it is build against a newer OE.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

O.K., thank you.
Yesterday I installed the vps-plugin new, overwrote the "modifications.py" and made a recording without security mode at arte HD (de).
The begin was at the lead time (5 minutes), the end was exactly the end of the film (over DVB-T2).
->The evaluation of the shutdown signal was apparently correct!

thank you for committing the new vps-plugin-version.
But with my both boxes vusolo2 & Zgemma H7S I have under OpenPLi 7.1 the same problem as before.
I can't see the vps checkbox in the Timer menu.
In my box, it's version 1.6, committed is version 1.7

7.1-release is a stable, everything is pinned on commit hash to make sure the build remains stable.
If something needs to be updated in a release, this pinning needs to be changed for the new version to build.
