Pease login to your box with telnet, issue the commands "lsusb" and "lsmod", and post the output here.

Also, which OpenPLi version?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I see two different things.

The solo2 lists ID "0bda:b720", which is an RTL8723BU. And the zero4k lists ID "0a05:7211", which is an USB hub.

So in neither of them I see the wifi stick you mention?

Now I see USB ID "148f:7601", which is also not an RTL8192EU, but a Ralink MT7601U. A driver for that chipset should be in the feeds too.

I installed the wifi key on pc and it works well

That is because Windows installs a ton of drivers by default, which we can't, most of the boxes have limited space available, so we don't install packages virtually nobody will use.

Buy a decent wlan USB stick with official support in the Linux kernel or use a wireless bridge.

* Wavefrontier T90 with 28E/23E/19E/13E via SCR switches 2 x 2 x 6 user bands
I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.

Usual problem with cheap chinese junk. You never know what you get delivered.

A quick look in the feeds shows the kernel driver is only built for boxes with a recent 4.x kernel, and VU+ is still stuck on an old 3.x kernel. The Linux kernel database confims that: https://cateee.net/l...db/MT7601U.html, only from 4.2-4 onwards.

I have have a look and see if we can build it out of tree and add it to the next release, but no guarantees about it's success, out of tree drivers are notoriously difficult to build consistently...

Drivers that are part of the linux kernel can be build without problems, a matter of enabling it in de kernel configuration.

Drivers that are not (called "out of tree") need to be manually integrated, which is a hell of a job, since you need to deal with all the different kernel versions and create patches for those, and make sure it doesn't build for kernel versions where the driver is already included.

Which is why you often see the advice to check first what is supported, and then buy the stick, and not the other way around. An embedded Linux system is not a Windows PC, you can't just buy something, plug it in, and expect it to work...

Yes, download them, put them on a FAT formatted USB stick, plug the stick in, and it should prompt you. After installation, restart the box.

If it works you should see a WLAN interface in the network setup.
