What is the USB device ID (type lsusb on the commandline).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Thanks.

I can't comment about 7.1, but for 7.2 there's been an overhaul of the wifi drivers, and the MT7601USTA driver in 7.2 does support this device id:

./common/rtusb_dev_id.c:	{USB_DEVICE(0x148f,0x7601)}, /* MT 6370 */

so perhaps try the 7.2-RC (or wait for the release).

We are really sorry. Your STB encountered a software problem, and needs to be restarted. Dlease send the logfile /tmp/enigma2_crash.log to forum at www.openpli.org. Your STB restarts in 10 seconds! Component: Enigma2

The package is called kernel-module-mt7601usta, not kernel-module-mt7601, you did install the correct one?

We can't do anything more than compile the driver, as we don't own your stick, so we can't debug / test.

Hello everyone, I have a similar problem that I can't figure out.

I have an Qviart Lunix, with OpenPLi release 7.2 (I just updated to 24/02/2020). My Wifi card is the chipset MT7601U.

After installing the latest release I still can not connect to Wifi. I have looked for the kernel-module-MT7601usta or similar packages and can not find any.

Could you please help? How do I install that package?

Thank you for the help.

For kernels > 4.2 it should be enabled in the kernel configuration, but it looks like for Qviart that isn't done, so we have to ask the manufacturer to fix that.

edit: I have created a pull request for it: https://github.com/p...viart-5/pull/11

Thank you very much for your information and help.
Meanwhile, can I fix it in some way, or better wait for the solution of the problem?

The only other solution I know of is to compile one yourself (get get one from someone who has already done so).

They've already responded. There is an updated 7.2-release online with the "kernel-module-mt7601u".

Thank you. Ok, I have already installed the "kernel-module-mt7601u". But... what is the next step? I think that will be to install the driver for MT7601 chipset, But I can't find it. And the Wi-Fi network option still does not come out.

You need the firmware package too: "firmware-mt7601u".

After installing you need to reboot the box the have the firmware loaded by the driver.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
