I just tried this on an old et7x00 and unfortunately your scenario didn't work either although the kernel is much newer then the one from Vu+.

And another attempt with a Lunix4K. Some steps further but still no result. The wireless lan plugin appears not to be available.

And indeed, for some reason the VU Zero 4K doesn't have either.

No idea why, I'll have to find time to look into that.

Looks like one of those bitbake race's, we've seen that before. Package is being built, but it is not present in the deploy directory.

It should be available again (as "kernel-module-mt7601usta") for the nightly build image, after sync of the download mirrors (might take 30 minutes or so).

Don’t expect that the mt7601usta kernel module is working in all cases. I already saw on some boxes problems loading the module.

I would be interested in the details of that.

It's quad4k with kernel-module-mt7601usta.

I found solutions in the net (set kernel parameter coherent_poll=4M), but it doesn't work on this box. Something in the drivers or whatever prevents setting higher coherent_poll. And with the other solution I found (adapting the module code) the module works for a few minutes and then the box freeze.

4M is a bit overdone I think, it could very well be that it does work with 1M or 2M.

What is CmaFree and CmaTotal in /proc/meminfo ?

2M is already standard. But I don't know whether I should believe that:

root@gbquad4k:~# cat /proc/cmdline
root=/dev/mmcblk0p9 rootwait rw rootflags=data=journal libata.force=1:3.0G,2:3.0G,3:3.0G coherent_poll=2M vmalloc=525m bmem=529m@491m bmem=608m@2464m
root@gbquad4k:~# cat /proc/meminfo | grep Cma
CmaTotal: 16384 kB
CmaFree: 15844 kB

It's 2M on the VU+ Duo 4K too. according to the meminfo it has 16Mb allocated, and hardly any used?

Well, can’t comment that. Have no knowledge about these things.
Quad4k and UE4k better shouldn’t buy this chipset.

Will MT7601 work with Qviart Lunix 4K? (OpenPLI 8.1)

The driver is there, if it works, I don't know, I don't have a device with that chipset (and no Linux 4K ;)).
