Hi,

Last month, i met this problem with pli olite (cccam). My right csat was not updated. So i upgarded my dreambox 7000 and with jade and cccam, its works.

This month i have the same problem. i had csat until 03/09/2008. Impossible to have more.
restart cam, reboot, flash erase and re-install jade : nothing.
Today i have yet a black screen and my right is 03/09/2008 only.

Someone can help me ?

I do not know CSAT but it appears the card is not being updated, so either you have to modify the CCcam.cfg so this happens, or put the card back in the original box so it is updated.

I have CSAT and the Jade with newcamd (downloaded directly from within the menu) and it works.
Only tweak I had to do was to start the daemons myself (in /var/etc/init), the installer must be broken.

Which daemons? Cams are not started from /var/etc/init but by the "plimgr" program.

The newcamd and cardserver daemons (apparently the second is necessary too even for standalone, legal use). I know the plimgr is supposed to start them but something apparently went wrong: after installing and several reboots, the processes were not present. So I started them manually, saw it worked, and then looked for a place to put user-startup script. So I chose /var/etc/init.

Now if you fix that little startup error, I'll be glad to remove my tweaks !

the normal procedure would be to go to the 'softcam setup' menu, and select 'cardserver' as cardserver, and 'newcamd' as default softcam.

Wow, it works, thanks !
(Idea for improvement: when installing a cam or cardserver and there is currently none, make it the default ;-)

Best regards,

-Alex
