Hi there.
I own a Dreambox 7020 with a 160Gb Hard disc.
I 've noticed that from the moment I instal (on my usb stick) JADE, after some days (of standby) the receiver crashes. Actually, I can see that the hard disc is isntalled properly, but if I try to check it, it reacts to slow. If I try to record on it, I get the message "unaccesible storage media".
If I restart my receiver, then everything is ok.
Don't ask me about heat. I've already connect a big fan and the problem remains.

Really looks like a hardware failure because I've never heard about such a problem. Is it in Jade only?

In the early past, I used PLI Iolite and everything was working excellent. Because of the "no update" I decide to instal Jade on my flash stick.Really looks like a hardware failure because I've never heard about such a problem. Is it in Jade only?
This is the period that my problems began.
I intend to do the following...
First, I will stop using Jade for a few days.
I will boot with Pli Iolite. In my case, Jade doesn't offer me something more (than Iolite).
I will check it and after some days, I will inform you, if the problem with the hard disc remains (using Iolite).
FINALLY I CHANGE THE HARD DISC and the problem seems to be solved.
I did this, because I couldn't format the hard disc (any more).
Imagine that I bought the hard disc with the problem, two months before.
I put a new hard (actually an old one 20Gb) and it seems that it works perfect!

Don't forget that here in Greece, we have hot temperatures.
Still colder than us here in Thailand where we have a year round (winter too) average of about 34C so box temps get upwards of the 50-60c and still function as they should.
On the 7020 I use a simple notebook USB fan-stand cooler and it works a ripper and only cost a few Euro at the PC store.
Glad to see you got the hdd issue all sorted
