I have a 2 TB HDD in my HD 2400.

I have to delete (about) 100 recordings.

Than I have to press 100 times the red button in the movie folder and than 100 times in the ./Trash folder?

O.K

I Thought thre is a possibility to mark the first row an the last row to delete more entrys together.

Thanks for help.

Then connect the box to the network and access the box from your Windows/Linux PC via Samba(Windows Network).
Or use Telnet and delete via command line.

You can delete all files in de trash folder at once by just clicking red on trash folder. There is no need to delete them on by one there. In addition they will be deleted automatically later.
The ui does not have check mark mechanism now... maybe we can consider to add a delete from/until option or so... but I have for now no idea how to make that user friendly. When you select ‘one by one with gaps first’ has no added value.
As far I know there exists some kind of plugin what is doing what you need.

You can use MoveManager plugin. It is in feed. Install it, go to MoviePlayer (PVR, VIDEO button) to any movie and open MoviePlayer menu - here you can see it. Then select what you want or use Ch+/Ch- for group selecting ...

...many good ideas!

By samba, it's very simple -> I didn't though so far.

MoveManager, I will test ist too.

Thanks at all :)

Keep it up :thumbs-up:

Hi,

Anyway it would be indeed nice if we can press Menu and then enable multi-selection to be able to select multiple titles without having to use any 3rd party tool.

Multi selection is not really needed there... but multi delete by selecting multiple succeeding files might add something

With regards to deleting/moving by FTP, it is one of the reasons why I use the event name filename convention.

In all cases, you have to press a button 100 times, whether to select them, or to delete them, no matter what tool you use.

The only way to do it faster is to use the commandline, providing the recordings have something in common, for example event name.

In all cases, you have to press a button 100 times

not sure, if you use movie manager, because if the movies which you didn't want to delete in the directory are less than the movies which you want delete

you can first select the movies which you didn't want delete and then you can revert the selection so that all movies are marked they you want delete.

as example;

you have 110 movies in a directory, you want delete 100 of this movies, so select the 10 movies which you didn't want delete

and then revert the selection with blue button, now the 100 movies which you want delete are marked to delete.

With FTP Client I can mark the first row and with the "Shift" button ich can mark the last row and all listings between are marked.

With the "del" button I can delete all marked rows :)

When I want to copy several files to an USB key when I go in holidays, it's convenient to have a multi selection tool. The tool I use, perhaps MoveManager, I don't remember the name, is more useful than the standard tool with which I have to select the destination for each file.

But if we can select all a column, it would be very convenient :) .

Why not move them with a windows PC? Even better than do it with a remote ;)...

(this will not say that we can find a way to select multiple files in the UI with the remote)

There also exists a plugin that attached to the movieplayer that is doing this for you.

If you use Windows for a lot of file, it's longer than using Linux even if Windows 10 have increased its performances ;) .

Yes I use a plugin as I explained previously, I don't remember its name, but we have to select the files one by one. It's better than the standard option of MovieManager but if it could be improved, it would be better ;) .
