The problem is that, as such, they are not unwanted.
They are unwanted in a single screen where it is possible to sort channel names, which goes wrong when the channel name begins with an SOS character. Which means it must be filtered there, and not generically.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Yes we can deal with the errant data later, but if possible (also without side effects), best to deal with at source.
If it's not possible, then that's that.

You can't deal with it "at the source" as you say, because it is legitimate date, which has a purpose, which is to determine the "short" channel name.
The problem is that the "EPG" code assumes the codes aren't there, and can't deal with it when they are. So that is what needs adressing.

@WanWizatd,
OK. It's a goiing to be a bit tricky trying to get a fix. Bug is on 28.2, only one person is able to reproduce it.
Person who did the code change only has DVB-T

I don't know enough of the code to be of assistence. I think Littlesat can receive 28.2 without issues, I'll willing to test if needed.

Can you find the discussion on the forum please... I tried and I could not find it anymore... I remember the discussion convinced me but I thought no provider was using it anymore...
Likely the issue in that discussion should be solved a different way as this one has clearly side effects...

The bug was reported on ViX forum, it was not reported here. We thought it was fixed with no side effects. So in the spirit of sharing I submitted the pull request to PLI.
I am afraid there was no discussion on the PLI forum. The discussion that took place was was on the pull request.
