Hi,

I'm the owner of a new vu+ uno 4k 1x dvb-c and I'm checking various systems.

I've installed openpli 7.2 without any issue but I'm still not able to use my ci+ module (I'm a digi subscriber in Romania), so I would like to revert to stock firmware.

I've previously was able to install the downloaded stock firmware (from code.vplus.com) but now with stick inserted in the box, the device is booting normally into openpli, without getting the firmware from the stick

How may I revert to stock firmware?

Thanks

Take a look overhere. http://code.vuplus.c...0&model=vuuno4k

And after downloading simply flash this factory image.

Thanks, as I said, I downloaded the firmware exactly from that link and previously I was able to flash it by inserting a stick and restart the box.

The problem is I do not know how to flash it now, with openpli installed.

I've written the files as usual on a stick and restarted the box with stick inserted, but the box continue to boot into openpli without checking the stick.

Thank you,

I do not owe a Uno 4K but with the Uno 4Kse you have to push the power button as soon as ‘update’ is shown in the display. And if you did so the text changes to updating. The flashing procedure is equal with all images.

So unpack the just downloaded image on the stick. Then a map vuplus and that map there is a map uno4k.

In case you owe an Uno 4Kse you have do download the Uno 4Kse image from Vuplus. http://code.vuplus.c...model=vuuno4kse

Sometimes the build in HDD will prevent a flash.. If applicable, power off the box, disconnect the HDD, connect the USB stick. Power on the box and check again....
CI+ is NEVER going to work as OpenPli does not support them. If you desperately need CI+ you must install VTi image.
Met één been in het graf..... Helaas

I never experienced problem flashing a STB with internal HDD. I never had to disconnect it.

Installing OpenPLi doesn't changed the flashing method.

Thank you all, I've succeeded but with a different method: via menu/flash image.

The problem was I did not find an essential info: the image on the stick must be placed differently on the stick.

With OpenPLI installed, the image must be in .zip and placed in "downloaded_images" folder. Then, the flash procedure is working via menu/flash image/downloaded images

With stock installed, the image must be unzipped and placed in the root of the stick. Then, the flash procedure is by just starting the box from the power button with stick inserted. But this method did not work (at least for me) with openpli installed.

Thanks!

The USB flash-procedure with PLi inside is no different then with any other image inside. It is often the user that causes the problem not following the right procedure. ;) Another reason that might cause that the USB flashprocedure fails is the stick you use.

Online flash is a different method than USB flash that's why it is different.
USB flash is the default "universal" method to flash a STB. You just need to unzip the downloaded image and copy the whole structure often starting with the manufacturer name into your FAT32 formatted USB stick.
Power off the bow plug the stick turn it on. The only problem now to know how to validate the detected new image to flash, this is manufacturer dependent (press a key on the front panel, press a key on the RCU,...)
So if you successfully flash an image with an USB stick plugged you can repeat it for whatever image you want to test.
All GUI flash method are image dependent so they are not universal.

Yes, that's what I thought also, unfortunately I did not find the magic key on RC (there is no button on vu+ uno 4k box, other than power on/off - a classical flip button).

Interesting however, on openatv firmware, stock and VTi firmwares, the procedure with stick inserted and power off/on is working, but not on openpli, where most probably I need to push something on remote but I don't know what. Maybe, power off/power on is not a deep reboot on openpli?

Now I'm just curios (I already have the online method on openpli that is working for me).

Thanks,
