Hi Folks,

   I am using OPEN PLI 7.2 on a Zgemma 7C 4K

Box specs

  • Support 4K- 2160p
  • MPEG-2 / H.264 and H.265 Hardware Decoding
  • HD HEVC / H.265 2160p60

I have an IPTV provider that has recently updated the bouquet with some films 4K on demand. Unfortunately 90% of this video on demand are not correctly played, basically I have no video, only sound.

info on the file

  • code H264  MPEG4 AVC
  • resolution 3840x1600
  • 30 FPS

The very same video is perfectly working if I use another box android, or if I play it via my android Tablet of gsm. I have also downloaded the very same video on my pc and streamed on the TV also working. I wanted to try to put the video on the stick and plug it in Zgemma box but I had to format the stick extFAT due to the file size making it unreadable for the box.

How can I make this video on demand playable?

Thanks for your help

Chances are Gstreamer doesn't support the file format. Perhaps installing ServiceApp and selecting it as player may help.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Is a chip problem. Almost all Broadcom chips don't support 4k resolution with h264 format. 4k is only supported with h265 codec (if the box supports h265). So nothing we can fix.

And by the way it's most likely illegal content...

Hi Betacentauri,

I have reported the spec of the box where it is stated that both format h264 and h265 are supported, that s why I was bit confused...

and by the way be careful with your assumptions, I do not deal with illegal content.

So I would be interested in using this legal provider of films - I guess you have no issue with naming them??

I never used such function. Should I look up for it and disable?

Hi,

if I press blue while watching a channel indeed the current program is displayed in a corner of the screen, leaving the rest for a menu

if I have to disable this to solve the problem I would....just I dunno how :(

Sorry, but it is like it is. H264 with 4K resolution don’t work on a h7. Can’t tell you more. It’s a known problem that cannot be fixed by us and is most likely a hardware limitation.

Restart the box with multiboot in mode 1 and try again....
And indeed h264 in 4K which is a crash mode might indeed not work.

Most STB 4K of broadcom is around:

H.264 upto 1920x1080

H.265 upto 3840x2160

Other chipsets like amlogic and hisilicon, this can do H.264 upto 3840x2160 (like zgemma H9)
