Hello,

I'm facing some difficults to stream my channels in local with my VU+ zero 4k.

Some channels don't run in local stream, from my PC with VLC and from a Smart TV. I can open it on the receiver without problem.

VLC seems to download something ( i see a download activity) but don't show any image or sound. I get a black screen too on the smart tv.

I navigate into the site to find a solution and get some clues, like a needed installation of  a PAU extension or transcodingsetup.

I try to install enigma2-plugin-extensions-pau_1.0-r0_vuzero.ipk manually without success. he don't install/update anything.

for transcodingsetup extension, I do this commands :

opkg update
opkg install enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-transcodingsetup

A process is found, but nothing appears on the plugin browser.

is strange but I already successfuly stream this channels in the past, without pau etc.

I'm actually on the last firmware version from 9/05.

Can someone help me ?

regards

The VU Zero is not the same as the VU Zero 4K. If it is not in the feed, it isn't needed. The fact that some channels do work should already be an indication from that.

There can be many reason for it not to work. A decoding issue? Tuner not available?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi WanWizard,

I have a zero 4k. In the past, I use a Solo 4k without problem.

After some tests, I can stream channels from only one transponder and seem to be locked on it. while I open a channel from other transponders, I can watch it on receiver but his stream don't open, only show a back screen

A VU+Zero4K is a single tuner STB. You can only view 1 channel at the time. Having tuned to a station, you can't start another stream. You can only stream if the box itself is in standby. Furthermore the VU+Zero4K has a SoC in which a few codecs have been disabled/removed in order to make it as fast as possible. I believe the AVI codec is one of them. On the positive side VP9 support for YouTube is present..

Hello,

actually, with the 'good' transponder, I can watch several streams from differents stations at the same time without put the receiver in standby.

The problem is that I have only one transponder that works to stream. In the others, I tune a station on the receiver and watch it without problems. the problem is while I try to stream channel, the same channel or others. this don't work. I tryed to open the stream with the receiver in standby. nothing change

As long as they are on the same transponder.

If VLC receives something, its codec information screen will tell you what it receives. If VLC receives something it doesn't onderstand, you get an error message.

Since you don't get an error message, but a back screen (I bet if you enable subtitles in VLC, you will see them), my 2ct's are on an decoding problem. CI module perhaps?

The codec information is empty in VLC. I only see a download activity.

as said, I get it worked with another receiver in the past. I have a doubt about CI module used.

I will try another CI module and come back to you

I doubt that will fix your problem.

Put the box in standby (not deep standby), and make sure no streams of recordings are active.

Which channels do stream? Which channels don't? Do you have FTA channels that don't stream? Which ones? What satellite are we talking about?

What kind of network connection do you have between box and client? How stable is that connection, which how much latency?

Thanks for help.

I tryed to stream in standby mode just after a reboot. the problem remains.

The sat : Hispasat
I can't stream FTA channels on a 'impacted' transponder.
channels tested :      Canal de teste - Frequency 12360.00H txp: 115
TV Record : Frequency 12130.00H     txp: 109

I only can stream channels from this transponder 12246.00h    txp: 112
They are all crypted on this transponder.

Some channels are similars like Sport 1 hd, Sport 2 hd etc from the same provider and I can only stream the channel on the 'good' transponder.

regards

I have absolutely no clue.

The box, nor the software, has any interest in what transponder it is, it is just bits in a datastream. If you can watch it, you can stream it.

Can you record the channels you can't stream?

Recording is technically identical to streaming. The only difference is the destination (file handle instead of network socket).

What kind of network connection do you have between box and client? How stable is that connection, which how much latency?

You haven't answered this question yet.

Streaming is realtime, if there is too much jitter and latency in the connection, in combination with flaky bandwidth (like wifi that is shared with a few smartphones), the stream will never start as the sync never happens.

My tests are only do localy.

The receiver (limited at 100 Mbps)  is wired to a gigabit switch, the PC with VLC connect to the switch with 300 Mbps.

The SmartTV is wired (1 Gbps)

* I can watch hd channels in the non impacted transponders

Then I am back at "no clue".

Never seen this, and I don't have an explanation for it.

I can only repeat, everything you can watch, and you can record, you can stream.

You right !

I can open a stream from a 'not working' transponder in my PC using another Player, BSPlayer instead VLC.
There is a mistery because, the channels that I stream have the same codecs, same resolution and the initial problem appears on VLC and SmartTV at simultaneous time.

I will do some tests tomorrow with another vu+ receiver

Hello,

I pursued the tests last days. As said, BSPlayer in PC (and mobile!) is praticly the only streamplayer that can open this streams.

It's seems that the channels have many stream/channels, only one with data (the stream id change at every start) :

ywI2ayI.jpg

the most of players (like vlc based) don't open this stream. A loop seems to be needed to find the stream/track with data..

The channels with only a stream/track for audio and video can be opened by all mediaplayers :

In the past with this exact same box VU Zero 4k i had no problems.

Thanks in advance.
